🦐Meet the stunning Cardina Dennerli, a standout species in freshwater aquariums.
Native to Sulawesi, Indonesia, these shrimp grow up to 2.5 cm and are perfect for planted tanks or nano setups.
They thrive in stable water conditions with a soft substrate and plenty of plants. Not only do they add vibrant color to your aquarium, but they also contribute to tank hygiene by grazing on algae and detritus.
💡 Tip: Ideal for intermediate hobbyists, as they require a carefully maintained tropical environment.

Tap Water vs RO Water — what’s better for your plants?
This is a question we get all the time from aquascapers — and the truth is, both water types can be great! It all depends on your tank setup.
🌿 Tap Water:
Tap water naturally contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, and trace elements that support healthy plant growth. It’s convenient, consistent, and ideal for beginners or low-maintenance planted tanks. Plus, many hardy plant species thrive in it without extra adjustments.
💦 RO (Reverse Osmosis) Water:
RO water is completely purified — stripped of hardness and impurities. This makes it a favourite for advanced hobbyists who want to fine-tune their water chemistry for delicate plants or sensitive livestock. By remineralizing RO water, you decide exactly what goes in — giving you full control over GH, KH, and pH.
✨ Our tip: You don’t always have to choose one or the other! Mixing tap and RO water often gives the best of both worlds — stable minerals and controllable softness, helping you achieve a balanced and healthy planted tank.
What do you use in your setup — tap, RO, or a mix of both? Let us know below! 👇

One of the most stubborn guests in the planted tank — Black Beard Algae (or BBA)!
It appears as dark, fuzzy tufts on hardscape, plant leaves, and even equipment, thriving in areas with strong flow and fluctuating CO2 levels.
❓Why it happens:
– Unstable CO2 or nutrient levels
– Low flow or inconsistent maintenance
– Overfeeding or organic buildup
👊 How to fight it:
– Stabilize your CO2 injection
– Improve circulation and regular maintenance
– Spot-treat with liquid carbon or prune affected leaves
The good news? With patience and balance, BBA can be beaten — leaving your aquascape looking clean and vibrant again! ✨

Nano aquariums may be small, but they can make a huge visual impact! Here’s how to set up a miniature underwater world that’s both beautiful and healthy:
1️⃣ Plan Your Layout: Create depth with layers of substrate, rocks, driftwood, and plants. Consider a focal point to draw the eye.
2️⃣Choose the Right Inhabitants: Small fish, shrimp, and plants like Riccia Fluitans, Java Moss, or dwarf ferns thrive in compact spaces.
3️⃣Lighting Matters: Medium to high light ensures your plants stay vibrant and healthy.
4️⃣Stable Water Parameters: Nano tanks are sensitive to fluctuations. Keep an eye on temperature and pH to keep inhabitants happy.
5️⃣ Less is More: Avoid overcrowding; open spaces enhance the beauty of your aquascape.
💡 Pro Tip: Add little details like moss-covered rocks, miniature caves, or colorful shrimp to create a visually stunning miniature ecosystem!

🌿 Say hello to Riccia Fluitans (Crystalwort)!
Riccia Fluitans is a versatile and vibrant green plant that can float freely or be attached to rocks, driftwood, or mesh for a striking aquascape. It’s a favorite for providing shelter for shrimp and fry, while adding a lush, natural look to your aquarium.
💚 Care Tips:
✅ Temperature: 68–82°F
✅ pH: 6.0–7.5
✅ Lighting: Medium to high to stay lush and green
✅ Maintenance: Trim regularly to prevent overgrowth and maintain a healthy, carpet-like appearance
💡 Pro Tip: Attach Riccia to mesh or driftwood to create a beautiful floating “green carpet” that gives your tank a natural, vibrant feel!

🦀 Vampire Crabs – Tiny, Colorful, and Full of Personality!
Vampire Crabs are small, striking freshwater crabs from Southeast Asia. Despite their name, they’re totally harmless—and a fascinating addition to any aquascaped tank!
What they love:
🟢 Humid, tropical environments with plenty of hiding spots.
🟢 A varied diet of insects, veggies, and sinking pellets.
🟢 Living in small groups to feel secure.
How to care for them:
1️⃣ Tank setup: Include both water and land areas so they can swim and climb.
2️⃣ Humidity: Keep the environment moist by misting regularly.
3️⃣ Decor: Add rocks, driftwood, and leaf litter for hiding and exploration.
With a little care, these tiny crabs can be a vibrant, active, and endlessly entertaining addition to your aquarium.
💡 Tip: A 10-gallon tank is perfect for a small group—more space equals happier crabs!

Every aquascaper has faced it: cloudy water. 😅 It can be frustrating when your beautiful aquascape looks more like fog than crystal-clear glass. But don’t worry — cloudy water is usually temporary and fixable.
Here are some effective ways to deal with it:
🔹 Check your filter – A clogged or underperforming filter is one of the most common causes. Make sure it’s clean and running at full efficiency.
🔹 Do a partial water change – Sometimes, simply refreshing 30–50% of the water can clear things up.
🔹 Watch your feeding – Overfeeding leads to excess waste and bacterial blooms. Feed sparingly, only what your fish can consume in a few minutes.
🔹 Consider the tank’s age – New setups often experience temporary cloudiness as beneficial bacteria establish themselves. In this case, patience is key.
🔹 Check your substrate – Stirring or adding new substrate can release particles. Let your filter and time do the work here.
Cloudy water doesn’t mean failure — it just means your tank is finding its balance. With the right steps, you’ll have crystal-clear water showcasing your aquascape in no time. 🌿✨
👉 What’s your tried-and-true method for clearing cloudy water?

Every aquascape needs a “main character.” This is what we call the focal point — the feature that naturally draws the eye 👀 and gives your layout balance, depth, and flow.
A focal point could be:
🔹 A dramatic stone placed by the rule of thirds
🔹 A beautifully twisted piece of driftwood
🔹 A splash of vibrant, contrasting plants
Without a clear focal point, an aquascape can feel scattered or unfinished. With it, your layout tells a story and guides the viewer’s gaze through the entire underwater scene. 🌿✨
👉 What’s the focal point in your tank right now?
