📖 Kya’s Adoption Success Story: A Heartwarming Tale 📖

It's hard to believe that I drove two hours to meet my sweet Kya, formerly known as Violet. She was dumped with her brother Dash in Eastern Washington before coming into the rescue. I wasn't sure if she would be able to fill the hole in our hearts and the void in our house after losing our previous German Shepherd.

From the moment I saw her, or maybe she saw me, it felt like fate. Kya quickly filled our hearts and home with wet kisses and silly antics. Her playful nature and affectionate personality brought so much joy and laughter back into our lives.

We are incredibly fortunate to have found Washington German Shepherd Rescue. Their dedication and care in matching us with Kya were truly remarkable. I am forever thankful for their efforts and would definitely use them again.

🐾 Exciting News: Dodger is Going to Be a Big Foster Brother! 🐾

We have added some wonderful new foster families to help with the incredible influx of puppies coming into the rescue. One of them is Dodger and here is a little video of him learning he is going to be a big foster brother.

Dodger is thrilled about welcoming new furry friends into his home. He's already practicing his best playtime moves and working on extra snuggles to make sure his new foster siblings feel loved and comfortable. With his loving and playful nature, we know Dodger will be an amazing big brother and role model.

🐾 Heartfelt Thanks to Our Amazing Volunteers! 🐾

As we step into 2025, we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our volunteers, both existing and new. Your dedication and generosity have made a remarkable difference in the lives of so many dogs.

Here we are, just 26 days into 2025, and we've already taken in 35 (including 16 in the last 6 days) dogs to the rescue. With 18 adoptions so far this year, we have 75 dogs currently in our care. This is truly incredible, especially considering we do not have a facility to house them in. Our 75 dogs are spread out among our amazing foster volunteers, who ensure they receive the love and care they deserve.

📖 Mia’s Adoption Success Story: Finding Our Perfect Fit 📖

We found out about Washington German Shepherd Rescue after doing some research on local adoption agencies in the area, and we're so glad we found them. They take the time to ensure that each new dog parent is ready to take the leap, whether it's your first dog or your tenth.

We lost our old guy about a year ago, after 14 years of love and companionship. We were finally ready to embark on a new fur baby adventure. Our adoption coordinator asked a lot of questions about our family and living situation to make sure they found the right fit for us.

We were able to meet Mia at her foster home for a meet-and-greet and ask a lot of questions about her leading up to the adoption day. We adopted little Ms. Mia about a month ago, and she is the perfect mix of cuddly, playful, curious, and energetic. She's so well-behaved with our kiddos and fills the void we knew we had but weren’t sure we could find the right piece for.

You can tell that everyone at Washington German Shepherd Rescue truly loves the animals they help, and they work hard to find them a successful fit. We feel so lucky to be Mia’s forever family and can’t wait to see how she grows with us. We love her more and more each day and already can't imagine not having her as a part of our crew!

🐾 Urgent: Foster Homes Needed for Washington German Shepherd Rescue! 🐾

Washington German Shepherd Rescue is in urgent need of more foster homes for our dogs. We recently had 7 more puppies come in yesterday, with 5 more waiting at a temporary short-term foster home until we can find spaces for them. Additionally, we have a mom and her 9 puppies from a local shelter that have asked us to take them, and another mom and her 7 puppies at risk of euthanasia from another local shelter. Almost forgot about the lovely young shepherd who wandered onto a dairy farm who has been given until tomorrow to be picked up by the owner of the farm.

Currently, we have 72 dogs in our care with another 13 dogs we have committed to taking as soon as we have space for them. We receive countless requests for help every day, and we can't do this without the support of our amazing community.

🐾 Urgent: Foster Homes Needed for Rescue Dogs! 🐾

At Washington German Shepherd Rescue, we have an urgent need for foster homes for the dogs coming into our rescue. We currently have over 20 puppies waiting for a spot to open up, along with adolescents and adults hoping for a place to be safe and loved.

As a completely foster-based rescue, we don't have a facility to house dogs. We rely on our amazing community that loves German Shepherds to open their hearts and homes to save a dog in need. We are going through our contact lists looking for anyone who has fostered in the past, but we simply don't have enough foster homes available at the moment.

📖 Deo's Adoption Success Story: From Apple Orchard to Loving Family

Four years ago, when we least expected it, we rescued a German Shepherd named Mia. She quickly became our whole world, and we couldn't imagine life without her. As she grew up, we knew that one day, we wanted her to have a puppy sibling.

Once our schedules allowed, we began researching rescues and stumbled upon Washington German Shepherd Rescue. We submitted an application but did not hear back for several days. My husband and I both let go of the idea and thought that maybe it wasn't meant to be at this time.

To our surprise, one night we got a call from Margret at the rescue—who is absolutely wonderful—and along came Deo! Deo, formerly known as Magnus, was found dumped in an orchard, corralled by seasonal workers into an apple bushel bin.

Deo truly exceeds any and all hopes we could have had for an addition to our family. He is sweet, smart, eager to learn, gentle, a fantastic brother, and a total goofball!

Deo loves to hike, sniff around on walks, play with toys, and has recently discovered the joy of playing in the snow!
