We are excited to share this special breeding just in time for the holidays!

Avant-Garde Hilda is expecting from Driefontein Groot Praat.

Groot Praat was highly renowned, yet not bred enough in his day. This breeding is the result of artificial insemination (AI) of frozen semen from a long-deceased male, and hence took a great deal of planning and effort. A pedigree like this is only found in books these days. We are trying to preserve some of the foundational blood that is becoming rarer.

Avant-garde Lörraine 85.6%L (will be stud registered).

Some pics of hers over the years to illustrate type and the direction in my bloodline. While she is not the final product of my bloodline, she illustrates certain traits that I like.

A case study in head type and muzzle. Notice the extremely broad yet long nasal bone and blunt muzzle as well as the parallel head planes. Almost unseen in the Boerboel today. You see her from the side and she looks lean and sleek, you see her upfront and she looks broad, blocky and square.

She is also a superb athlete with real muscle definition enabling her athleticism. Extremely submissive to her owners but will (and has) engaged unwelcome strangers.

She will mature further. Most of these pics are of her from this past winter (as some of you know, photography is not my forte).

Extensively linebred on Driefontein Groot Praat, Voorslag Sampie and Piksteel (quadrupled).

Mother: Lorraine scored 85.6 on a recent SABBS Zoom/video appraisal at 2 years of age.
Father: Baer scored 83.9 on the same.

You can expect consistency and “prepotency”.

Conformation wise: Square blocky heads, broad muzzles that have not only nasal width but length to permit ease in breathing. This is something hard to find and breed.
Compact and athletic. Muscular but not overly muscled. Strong angulation supported by fluid and athletic movement, not just diagrams. Functional animals with no extremes, these dogs are mobile and can run. The mother and grandmother can clear a 5-ft fence clean.

Temperaments: Forward, lively, confident, playful but also able to engage a target.

Health: Not only are the parents of the pups extensively health tested, the littermates to the parents (aunts/uncles) were too as well as the grandparents.
no VH/prolapse seen in the mother, aunts, grandmother – cleanest females I have ever owned.
PennHip results: Some of the tightest joints in the breed as measured by PennHip, clean elbows
No heart/cardio issues, healthy and vigorous family of dogs. No genetic defects or recessives detected after tested for 200+ hidden genetic diseases (Embark panel).
Do not carry any woolies, dilute or exotic colors in the entire family.
No Fertility issues a littermate sister to the pups just had 13 pups, grandmother had 10 pups last litter, no loss in fertility over generations.

This is an alternative breeding to the popular sire syndrome. No Rambo/Alpha or KS Benji in these lines (nothing against these popular sires by the way, I like them) just that their overuse has biased the living Boerboel population into one direction which is not good from a breed management point of view.

Nothing is claimed here without data. Always a 100% guarantee on health. This is not a money-making litter nor a backyard breeding. This litter is to lock in the so many of the good traits that are hard to reliably find .
