For those of you who are still interested in purchasing live insects or rodents from us, we will have a pickup time at our old location (1019 college road) from 2pm-3pm on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. We did get all bugs except roaches in today, so everything except dubias are in stock currently.

And if you can't come during the allotted pickup time, feel free to message me directly and I can try to setup another time this weekend as I will be in and out of the shop moving stuff all weekend.

This weekend will be our last weekend open before starting the process of moving out of our current location. We will be open Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-8pm. Unfortunately our shipment of bugs did not come in today and chances are it will not arrive tonight, so it's most likely we will only have mealworms as far as live insects for this weekend. If the other insects do come in I will post an update to let everyone know.

Sometime next week I will announce details about how I will continue to offer insects and rodents while we are making our transition. Thanks again to all our loyal customers and we are excited to see everyone this weekend.

Hey everyone! The shop's hours this weekend will be the same as last weekend. So we will be open 2pm-8pm on Saturday and Monday, and Sunday we will have the reduced hours of 2pm-5pm. And although we are sad to say it, the next weekend of March 25th will be our last weekend open at our original location, so be sure to stop by while you still can. Hours for next weekend will be announced next Friday.

Hey everyone, got two quick announcements.

This weekends shop hours will be the normal 2pm-8pm on Saturday and Monday, and on Sunday we will be open from 2pm-5pm.

I would also like to let everyone know that we now have a local source for live mice. If you interested in getting any, adults will cost $4 each and please contact me directly because they are not being kept at the shop, but I can bring them to the shop as long as you let me know in advance.

Hey everyone! It is with mixed emotions that we must announce that Jake's Snakes will be moving out of our current storefront at the bluegrass commons within the next two months. Although we are sad to be leaving the place where it all started, we hope to be moved into a new storefront in Fairbanks and open again for the public by the end of summer 2023. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Bluegrass Common and for providing a great space to begin the business, as well as a huge thank you to all of our loyal customers who continue to show support for Jake's Snakes as well as local businesses in general. Without the support of the community, Jake's Snakes could not exist, and we really appreciate everyone who has stopped by the shop to purchase feeders, check out the critters or even if you just stopped by to say hi and chat. Getting to meet and help so many cool people in the community through the shop has really been a dream come true.

With that being said, the shop will still be open at our current location with reduced hours for the next 3 or 4 weeks. I will post our adjusted hours weekly as well as update them on our page and Google maps.

This weekend, we will be open from 2pm-8pm on Saturday the 4th. Sunday the 5th the shop will open earlier than normal from noon-3pm. Monday the 6th we will be closed.

We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. If you are not able to come in during our reduced hours and would still like to purchase something, please feel free to message us and we'll try our best to work out another time to meet.

To anyone worried about where you will get feeders while the shop isn't open, we will still be getting in bugs as well as frozen rodents during our hiatus and we would still like to offer those to the community. Details on exactly how that will work are not determined yet, but tentatively we will take orders for feeders online and plan a time to meet up with customers until we have open hours at the new storefront. Feel free to message us with any input or comments.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has supported the business. We hope to have your continued support as we make this transition.

Just wanted to remind everyone that our holiday sale has officially begun! All weekend and Monday we will be discounting 15% off of live insects and corals are 20% off. We also have a limited supply of hornworms available. (There is one cup of 12 hornworms set aside for each person who commented on last weekends post :))

Happy holidays to all! We hope everyone has been having an enjoyable winter so far. As much as we don't like the cold temps, all of us at the shop have been having a nice warm winter in our little oasis.

Next weekend, on the 17th, 18th and 19th of December the shop will be having a holiday sale running all weekend long! There will be a 15% off sale on bugs and corals will be 20% off, on top of our usual buy 3 corals get 1 free deal.

We also have a small selection of used reptile decor for sale now, which will be 15% off next weekend during the sale.

Last of all, I'm considering ordering some hornworms for next weekends sale, which I usually do not have in stock. I don't plan on getting a lot in unless I hear that there is interest in them from the customers, so please comment here or feel free to dm me if you would like some hornworms next weekend.

The bugs are here!! We got in our shipment of insects, so this weekend we will have crickets available again. We also got more mealworms and for the first time in a while we got super worms in, so we will have a variety of options for insectivores.

We also have some new shop residents who just arrived today! Here is a video of them eating for the first time in the shop. Be sure to stop by and check them out this weekend!

Hey everyone, this weekend the shop will have limited operations again, so we will have adjusted hours and unfortunately no crickets available. The shop will be open Saturday as usual from 2pm to 8pm, but we will be closed on Sunday and Monday. Sorry for any inconveniences, and thanks to everyone for your continued support. Just wanted to let everyone know that this weekend the shop will return to its normal operating hours of 2pm-8pm Sat, Sun and Mon.

Unfortunately we did not get our shipment of crickets in today, so we won't have any crickets for sale this weekend. We do still have mealworms and roaches available, though.

All sizes of rodents are back in stock, too. So hopefully anyone who has been waiting for frozen rodents will be able to make it in this weekend.

Also, this picture is one I took of a wild cornsnake that I found in Florida earlier this week. It was so cool to find an animal that I personally keep as a pet in its natural habitat. Hopefully this little guy fared well through the hurricane.

Announcement to everyone who has been waiting for rodents to come in: the big shipment is tentatively coming in tomorrow, Thursday morning. I'm hoping to be at the shop from noon to 1 if anyone wants to come get rodents tomorrow. Also, I will be out of town this weekend but the shop will be open with adjusted hours that will be announced soon.

Hey everyone, unfortunately my shipment of insects this week did not come in yesterday, so the only bugs I have available at the shop this weekend are mealworms. We also haven't gotten in a new order or frozen rodents yet, so we are still out of most sizes of mice and rats. We will have bugs again next week and should have more fozen rodents in within the next two weeks. I will make an annoucement once the new rodents come in since so many people are waiting for that. Sorry for the inconvenience and feel free to message me with any questions or concerns.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to put out two announcements today. First of all, our bug vendor only sent us large crickets this week. So we currently do not have any small or medium crickets available. Secondly, the shop will be closed next weekend, July 2nd, 3rd and 4th. We will be open again on the 9th of July and we should have all insects back in stock. Apologies for any inconveniences.

I've just found out that our bug shipment for this week was delivered to an incorrect address in Anchorage today, so unfortunately the only insects that will be available at the shop this weekend will be dubia roaches. Apologies for any inconvenience.
