Hey h**p fans and friends,

Joyce from Slither Inn Reptile Shop in Fairbanks here and I have four more 4x2x2 pvc enclosures from Custom Reptile Habitats for sale up! Is anyone going to the expo that would like to see me bring them down for sale?

I know Jonathon’s Reptile also sells enclosures from Dubia, but the Custom Reptile Habitats enclosures are a higher quality PVC and therefore more expensive. These are also great for ball pythons or other humidity needing species as they hold humidity really well!


I’m coming down either way, just not sure if I want to bring any wares to sell so I’m trying to figure that out now…..

Let me know if I should see about grabbing a table at the expo to vend!

Medusa moved into her new Custom Reptile Habitats 4x2x2 enclosure yesterday.

We had to rearrange the whole stack to get this in and it was a full day of work to do it, but I'm really glad she now has twice the height she had before. More sticks needed, but overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Nearly done with the first viv and we've built out the one. Super excited to get these into my reptile room, but patience is nessary to complete all steps.

Patience is hard.

(Merle is currently brumating and not making any appearances at this time).

Finally found some time to assemble one of my personal enclosures from the order and it was SUPER EASY!! 45 minutes from opening the box to final screw. We hand turned the screws vs using a drill driver so we could have ultimate control and not accidentally overtighten anything.

Silicone seal on floor is curing since this will be holding a CRB that has a high humidity need and then tomorrow I will start adding the Universal Rocks background. I will be doing all three sides on this one, can't wait to see how it turns out!!

Did you know industry standards of care have changed have changed in the last few years?? The minimum size for an adult ball python is recommended to be 4x2x2 now.

Do you need help upgrading? We have this size enclosure from Custom Reptile Habitats in stock now.

I'm moving both of my ball pythons into this size and should have pictures up soon!

40+ Gallons is the Minimum Recommended Enclosure size for Adult Ball Pythons Throughout the US Pet Industry!

This minimum standard has been in place for years now but is now being increased by many leading pet stores to larger enclosures like a 4 x 2 x 2 (120 Gallon). All 3 of the big pet store suppliers (Zoo Med, Exo Terra and Zilla) state the 40+ Gallon minimum for adult ball pythons in their care sheets. Pet advocacy groups like USARK - United States Association of Reptile Keepers also recommend caging standards and ask their members to abide by their Keepers Code of Ethics and to uphold the highest ethical standards in reptile keeping and care.

While there are not any definitive caging standards in the breeding and supply sector, The Pet Advocacy Network (Formally PIJAC) introduced their Small Animal Standards of Care in 2017, as a definitive guide for all pet store suppliers, for the short term care of these animals.

Pet Reptiles are the fastest growing sector in the small pet category and are now in approximately 5 million US homes that care for over 13 million pet reptiles. At this time we estimate that there are approximately 1 million pet ball pythons that are kept as pets.

With the Custom Reptile Habitats pvc enclosure, you can choose to have lighting and heating inside or out.

Use a dome fixture on top of the enclosure with a deep heat projector (DHP) for ambient temps as well as to warm the substrate. Use a second fixtures with a halogen for basking.

Or if you prefer to install inside, you can use an Arcadia lamp holder and bracket with a DHP or add two and add a basking bulb. Please be sure to cage all fixtures inside an enclosure, especially for snakes.

Don't forget UVB! All reptiles including snakes need and/or benefit from providing the correct level of uvb.

Woah! This is super cool. I currently only have 4x2x2 for sale, but with these extension kits you could upgrade to 5 or 6 foot enclosures!

Now America's best selling all PVC 4 ft. enclosure can be expanded from a 4ft long enclosure to a 5ft or a 6ft enclosure with one or two of our expansion kits.
