Tulips are half planted and I tried something new this time… No trenches will be dug, no battles will be fought as I attempt to harvest with the bulb still attached to the stem in the spring 🤞 Am I semi-terrified about the well-being of the bulbs above ground? Yep. But all research points to it’ll be just fine.Have I planted in raised beds without issue? Yep. (Crates are scarier 🤷‍♀️.) Do you guys plant tulips in pots/crates/containers above ground in the fall? Can I relax about this? How dahlia season 2023 came together in 11 seconds! Planted in May and currently blooming their heads off. This year I did things a little differently and planted all my dahlias in grow bags instead of in the ground and it’s worked out great! And I’m super thrilled to not have to dig the tubers out of the ground after the first frost 🙌 Bonus points for me for labeling 95% of the bags at the time of planting so I didn’t have to ID and crawl under full grown plants frantically labeling before it was too late 🤣 #dahliaseason #kydahlias #kycutflowers #microflowerfarmer #frankfortky #hitherblooms #kyflowers #kyproud
