Ghibli (now Gibbles) is thriving at his permanent foster home! June 2023 we took in sweet Ghibli with his big eyes and sweet disposition. By the beginning of August he started limping and by the end of August it was determined that he had MPS (mucopolysaccharidosis). At that point, we knew Ghibli was going to remain under our care for the rest of his short life. We did our best to give him a safe and comfortable place in our busy kitten room.

However in November, one of our wonderful volunteers asked if it would be possible to foster Ghibli at her home. She and her mom discussed it at length and decided, they were ready!

We moved him in to their home in late November. Due to the progression of his symptoms and the degenerative disease, our vet didn’t expect he would be with them for more than a few months.

Over 7 months later, boy did he prove us all wrong! Thankfully with all the love, attention and care that he receives at his foster home, Ghibli is absolutely thriving. Gianna, her mom and brother have spoiled him like crazy and he is loving it! We cannot thank them enough for opening their home and hearts to sweet Ghibli! We hope he continues to thrive!! ❤️

Nena was surrendered to us and one week later had 3 adorable puppies (on 7/3). 1 brown female, 1 brown male and 1 white with brown spots female. Anyone who knows us, know we like to name litters as groups (for example - colors: magenta, violet, and indigo). If you would like to send in group names for these little beans! Please do! We will pick our favorites and let our volunteers vote! Happy naming!

We just had a rescue puppy undergo exploratory surgery to find this thread wrapped around the base of his tongue, lacerating it, and hanging into his esophagus and into his stomach and intestines.

Eclipse is back to the rescue and resting after his 5 day ordeal! His surgery and hospitalization bill totaled $2894.90. We have received some donations and are looking at a balance of $1934.16. If you are able to donate toward his care, even $5 or $10, please call Powers Drive Animal Hospital, 407-299-4850. They will charge your donation and take it off his total bill. UPDATE: “NOT OUT IF THE WOODS YET!” - Dr Louie. Surgery took longer than expected. Eclipse is being monitored in recovery. He managed to eat some kind of fabric that got wrapped around the back of his tongue and ran all the way down into his intestines. Poor baby! These are puppies are crated when they aren’t being monitored, so how this happened, I have no idea. We will be more vigilant going forward to make sure they are watched every second outside of their crates.

Because if the location of the foreign body, the doctor anticipates that he will be staying at the vets office for the next few days, until he is willing to eat and able to keep the food down. Keep the healing thoughts coming!

Eclipse, hasn’t been eating or pooping since Saturday. He was at the vet all day yesterday and overnight being given fluids, but no change. He is being prepped for exploratory surgery this morning. If you’re able to help with his vet bill, it’s estimated to be over $3000 😣. Meet Ron (Weasley)! Through no fault of his own, Ron, who was with us as a kitten was returned to us today because his family is moving out of state. He's a very sweet boy, just a bit scared at the moment, and understandably so, he just lost his family today.

Applicants ask us all the time, why are we being so picky about who we adopt to, and why our adoption application is so long. This is why. Even though we do our due diligence to adopt our furbabies to their furever home, we can't always see the future and sometimes they are returned to us. Poor Ron, don't you worry, we WILL find you a furever home, PROMISE!!! ❤️

If you are interested in adopting Ron, (about 3.5 years old now), please don't hesitate to put in an application for him. Upon pre-approval, we will set up a time for a meet and greet.

Our is Georgie! She is so sweet and loving! While on walks, she loves to sit and sunbathe for a bit☀️

She is not up for adoption yet due to a minor skin condition but will be up for adoption as soon as it is cleared up!
