Who is this absolute ham!? Find out ⬇️

A little about Axel from his wonderful foster mama:

He was hit by a car and taken to a shelter.  He was set to be euthanized that day so I took him.  He had a severely broken leg.  He's had surgery and is doing AMAZING.
He is the SWEETEST dog.
He loves to snuggle right next to a human.
Very well behaved and quiet during the day.
Gets along great with all of my dogs.  I have never seen any signs of aggression.  He does have a prey drive - likes to bark and chase birds etc. outside - so not sure how he'd do with cats.
He is very calm and chill - he does also love to play and run.  His activity has been limited due to his surgery but he is eager to get some play/run time in.  l love seeing his goofy side come out.
Loves to destroy tennis balls.
CAN NOT be crated - he will hurt himself.
He has a bit of separation anxiety and will bark when left alone - though I go into the office 3 days a week for a full day and he has not destroyed anything - just barks.
Potty trained and knows commands.  He is a great listener.

All around he is an amazing dog and needs a loving home where he can be by his human as much as possible.
His microchip is from 2015 so he’s estimated to be 7-8 years old but seems much younger!

If you’re interested in Axel send us a DM and we’ll connect you to his foster mom!

Let's talk about the VOHC and dental treats!

-The Veterinary Oral Health Council conducts studies to see if oral health products do what they say they do.

-Dental treats can help prevent plaque and tartar build up if used alongside teeth brushing.

-Only using dental treats for your pets is the same as a human only chewing gum and never brushing their teeth.

Grapes and raisins, as well as onions, garlic, and chives, are all extremely harmful foods for cats. Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure — although the reasoning behind that isn’t clear. Meanwhile, onions, garlic, and chives wreak havoc on your cat’s gastrointestinal system and can cause anemia.

Why is canine health so important?

-Bad breath can be the first sign of a dental concern. It could mean tartar build up, tooth decay, gum disease, or oral infections

-If dental disease goes untreated bacteria can enter their bloodstream which can lead to heart, kidney, or liver problems.

-Brushing your dog's teeth is the most effective way to prevent dental disease. Dental treats can help, but using dental treats without brushing their teeth is the same as a human only chewing gum and never brushing their teeth.

-Teeth brushing should be done every day or every other day

-If you would like a link demonstrating how to get your dog used to brushing their teeth let us know!
