Dog Toys needed

At one point I had a bunch of toys for the dogs. Some how or another they have all been destroyed! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️I was asking for shoes. But never thought how that teaches them to eat shoes. lol. So I don’t do that anymore. Anyone got any old dog toys you no longer need or even stuffed animals (yes they will rip them apart and I’ll have to pic up the stuffing but it’s worth it to see them playing )🤣🤣🤣🤣 items can be dropped off at B&B thrift store in town on 7th street. Wed-Sat 9-5.

One day after his surgery and I can’t believe how different he’s acting. The pain he had to be in must have been horrible! He got up when I came to check on him, tail wagging and even ate really good. Then I changed his t-shirt and he went and laid back down. Keeping some good pain meds in him so to give his incision time to heal. It looks really good.

An update on “Horse” the Great Pyraneese. If y’all recall back in November he was wonder the streets in the Rio frio area. A lady finally caught him. He had a huge Cyst on his hip, which the vet removed right away! It’s healed perfectly ! He also had a knot on his left lower leg that kept him from using his leg. The Vet wanted to monitor and try and treat with anti-inflammatory and antibiotics. We did blood work for blood disease but that came back inconclusive. Anyway this past Friday his leg started swelling. And I knew he was in so much pain.
I got him to the vet and she started leaning towards bone cancer. We had two options. Put him down or remove the leg. Removing the leg would immediately get rid of the pain. And allow him to have a functionally happy life but if the bone cancer had spread there would be issues in the future. I chose this option and I’ll address the possibilities if they arise! Right now he’s going to have a life he deserves! Y’all know me! I’m going to give an animal every opportunity to live if at all possible. This morning he was sleeping like a baby. So well I didn’t even wake him. I can tell there’s no more throbbing pain and this makes me happy.

Yesterday evening while out feeding, an elder couple drove up. They walked over to where I was feeding. The man said. “You don’t know us but we heard about you and had to come meet you. “. We talked for a little while and before they left he wanted to pray for me and the animals. So in the middle of the driveway we bowed our heads and he prayed. He almost got my tear trigger ! It’s things like this that proves to me to continue to do what I love and fight for the animals that have no voice!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope all your fur babies made it thru the fireworks ok and are safe and calm now. I had “someone” decide to pop fireworks in my general area so naturally it got all my dogs nervous and stressful. But it settled down after a couple of hours. So for that I was thankful.

I look forward to helping as many animals as I possibly can this year!

No animal should be sad !

This morning I was contacted about a dog that was shot two times! Not once but twice! Why? Luckily the man that shot him had a horrible aim! No vital organs were hit , no bones shattered. He has a grazed bullet wound under his left shoulder. Which will heal pretty quick I’m thinking. The other one the bullet went in and out under his jaw. This one is a little more intense. Because there isn’t anyway to wrap it. Cleaned it all up , showed the owner how to care for it and gave him the antibiotics and pain med for the next 7 days. This was a very lucky dog. The shooter can rot in hell (sorry I’ve had a rough week! ) I’ll check on him in a couple of days to see how he’s doing. His owner really loves that dog! And he’s going to let me neuter
him. Not the man. But the dog! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Good luck sweet boy. Hope this is now your forever home !

Remember this pretty boy? Well we found him a home. But now the new owners are moving to an apartment and they can only have two dogs. So this one is getting left behind. If we can’t find him a home he will go to the animal shelter. And we all know what happens to owner surrendered dogs !😢😢😢if interested I can get an update on him. Let me know

This is probably one of the hardest posts I’ve had to make. Out of the 10 puppies there is only one still alive and actually not doing so good. It’s tearing me up to have to be dealing with this, but I’m aware of the chances there is when trying to save newborn animals. I’ve been in contact with the vet this whole time and we have been trying everything to save them. They started seizing and the stress on their little bodies was just too much for them to handle. This is why I can’t stress enough how important it is for newborn animals to receive their mothers colostrum the first 24-48 hours .The person that threw them away basically caused this and it discusts me to think about it. I can say they all weren’t alone and knew love and warmeth with their last breath.

I want to thank you all for the items you donated for their care and let you know if you were still considering to donate it’s no longer necessary. 💔

“Trashcan puppies”. Kinda fitting. Anyway several have asked how to help. So I created a wish list on Amazon specifically for them. The main things now are the esbilic and papertowels. (These babies can really p**p and pee)🤣🤣🤣🤣 feedings every two hours you go thru a lot of papertowels

It’s Christmas season. How can anyone be so heartless?

Story time.. on 12/19 I get a text, voice message and fb pm from a lady outside of San Antonio. I call her back and she’s beside herself. Crying and upset. She was at a car was and heard some whimpering. Searching.. she found 10 newborn puppies, umbilical chord still attached in a garbage can with a pizza box on top of them! She called everyone in the general area and no one would take them!!! She found me thru a friend… yall know good and well I’m not going to say no!
She drove 2 1/2 hours to get them to me! I expressed to her that it’s likely some or all might not make it. Mainly because it’s so crucial for newborn pups to get their mom’s colostrum the first 24 hours at least. In this case it was apparent that didn’t happen! unfortunately the male runt and female runt were just to week to hold on! I hesitate to post right away because of this possibly happening. So we are now into day three, and trust me I’m a walking zombie! 🤣🤣but I wil say the remaining 8 are thriving. There is still chances of them getting sick because of a low immune system. But I’m treating in hopes to build it back up. Y’all keep these sweet innocent babies in your prayers. They didn’t ask for this and they sure didnt deserve it!

Yall remember Bishop? Got him in August with a gun shot to the leg and shattered his bones? Remember how determined I was to save the leg? Well, I think we did it.

Thought yall would like to see a little update on Baxter. His best friend is Sailor. Baxters adopter said after Baxter arrived , Sailor being 10 yrs old , came to life! They play hard and are very close now !

Yall remember the baby whistling wood ducks I rescued a couple of months back ? Well it was release day on Tuesday! They are loving it and are staying with the other ducks on the lake. Note: excuse the one little bad word that came out of my mouth. I slipped and almost ate it! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

I wonder how long it has been since she’s wagged her tail like this! She might not have long but she will be happy!

In the world of animal rescue, one day you can have sad sad tears and then the next can be tears of happiness. I wanted to see what y’all all did for Baxter ! He made it to his forever home this morning and all of you had a part in that. He’s happy, healed and safe. For that I’m forever grateful! Tk you! ❤️❤️🥰🥰

EDIT POST. So it seems fb assumed I was calling Baxter Bastard. Geez! In the close caption on the video it’s showing Bastard! You think it’s the way I talk? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wanted y’all to see what your donations did for Baxter! This dog is amazing! I can’t thank yall enough for helping me give him the life he deserves!

Baxter gets his stitches out tomorrow! All I can say is Hallelujah!!!! So I gave him and Bishop a little living room time (10 min). lol. Anyway. Tipton wasn’t having it. He’s a tad jealous when I’m sitting on the couch with him! 🤣🤣🤣he’s harmless to them he just thinks growling shows his tough side! It’s going to be tough on me letting Baxter go! He’s such an amazing dog! Bishop is too but he’s still got a long road ahead of him.
