Story time….first let me say this. I try really hard to keep my “harsh” comments under wrap. But sometimes I have to vent! This is going to be one of those times! Several months ago a lady reached out to me to help her get her dog fixed. (After she got pregnant and had several puppies) She didn’t have the funds to do it and she promised to pay me back (which she is as she can). That’s all ok. I knew it would keep the dog from getting pregnant again…. So I helped with all the shots for the puppies and paid to fix one of the female pups. (Which she is paying back). Now fast forward a few months. She still has two puppies left and she reaches out to me about helping with another one that is a female. Which again I will help. BUT.. she then tells me she’s had enough and if she can’t find them homes she will have them SHOT! Can you imagine how my heart dropped? These puppies did not ask to be born. The negligence of the owner is at fault. I don’t care if it was an accident or not! Now because she wants them gone it’s just easier to kill them? I’m sick to my stomach! What am I supposed to do ? I have no open pens! To look at these pups, and to know someone is going to stand in front of them and shoot them makes me furious! I even expressed to her it was against the law! She said she knew it was and would be a misdemeanor and that’s only if there was proof it happened.. and the kicker.. she said that’s what the sherrif office told her! I’m so mad right now I could spit nails! I don’t know what to do! I can tell yall right now that every animal shelter will turn her down everyone is so full! And because they are 10 months old with a mix breed of pit, lab, and German shepherd (my observation). It makes it that much harder!
I need thoughts, suggestions , ideas…anything! I’m not going to rest till I figure out what to do! They have got to get away from there before they are shot!
