Just picked Baxter up. Said it was pretty difficult to fix. the tissue had retracted so much she took off quite a bit more bone had to put a drain in and now my poor baby has to wear one of them cones.  why do I feel there’s a lot of sleepless nights ahead of me?

Between Baxter and Bishop, I’m gonna be honest my medical bills are through the roof. You all know I have a hard time asking for financial help so I was thinking if y’all know any companies that need write offs that could make a donation that would be great. I am 501 C3 nonprofit. I can write them a receipt and it’s totally tax deductible so spread the word let’s see

Uggghhh. Baxter and I just can’t catch a break! Last night while changing his bandage, the bone had once again protruded thru the stitching closure. Because of the tissue loss from the reclosure last Monday the stitched area couldn’t hold the bone in place. I spoke with the vet this morning and the only solution now is to take the bone off further, probably up to the shoulder! This guy is giving me a run for my money! Litterly! He was supposed to go to his new home on the 22nd. But it was decided he should just stay here until the leg can heal properly ! He is such a trooper thru all of this. He’s taking it a lot better than me! 💔💔

Little update on Bishop.. he’s adjusting really well to his big ole splint! Very well mannered and does his business outside! He wasn’t too thrilled about me having to change his bandage where the bullet hole is, but we got it done!

I was a little hesitant to post this but Caidy said someone might be missing their baby and it would help to give them peace…. Yesterday evening I got a call about a sickly cat by the ice machine at family dollar. Caidy being the closest, I asked her to go get her and keep her comfortable and bring her here this morning. After a few texts back and forth she felt like she probably wouldn’t make it thru the night. So after this picture (she is alive in this pic) I asked her to make her a comfortable bed and show her the love she needed at that moment. She wasn’t alone and I’m sure she felt the love with her last breath!

This little guy has been running the streets around 1120. He’s on his way here now. He’s bound to belong to someone.. looks to be very healthy and wearing a scarf. Doesn’t seem like a dumped dog to me. I’m going to scan him for a chip and look on some lost and found sites. I sure would like to get him back to his family!

I’ve had several people ask me about donations towards Bishops care… the reason I haven’t asked is because so many of you were so kind in regards to Baxters care ! I will say bishops care is going to be more intense than Baxters because we are trying desperately to save his leg first! I’m attaching today’s invoice… (rescuing injured dogs ain’t cheap!) now please read this next sentence carefully ! “””You do not have to feel obligated to donate. “””

Well made it to the vet. He definetly was shot. Shiny things are bullet fragments. The bone is shattered, but because he’s in such bad shape, he couldn’t have surgery to amputate. So… new game plan, we’re going to try and save the leg and splint it. He needs 6 weeks of antibiotics to build his immune system back up and he’s very anemic and very under weight. Only 44 lbs. he should be around 65 at least!!!
No more worries Bishop I got you now! I sure do hope we can save the leg!!!!

Another day another injured dog….. this poor guy was probably just trying to survive the streets but ended up getting shot in the back leg about 3 weeks ago. Luckily a sweet lady found him and took him in. Not having money to get him to the vet she did the best she could. His bullet wound healed but the leg from let’s say the knee down just dangles. Her grand daughter contacted Caidy and Caidy reached out to me. Today we went and evaluated “BISHOP”.
He’s very thin, maybe about 3-4 years old. I’m amazed how sweet he is even having to deal with everything he’s gone thru. THAT CHANGES TODAY !! Tomorrow it’s off to the vet to get some xrays. Sure hope we can save the leg!!!

What a day! Baxter had my heart racing! Normal routine go outside to the outdoor kitchen open the door and let Baxter out to do his thing.. then he eats comes back in, I check his stitches and move on to the next animal.. well I got all the way to check his stitches and my mouth dropped! They had busted open and bone was sticking out! I’m not talking about no little opening either! Today’s Monday my vet is closed! I’m panicking so I go get some medical supplies and pull the skin together and wrap it up! My vet was in San Antonio and wouldn’t be back till around 5! I thought I did a good job wrapping his leg it managed to stay on a couple of hours! By the third wrapping I had it pretty secure and now it’s time to go to vet! 1 hour and 45 mins later my vet has got his wound put all back together!
He’s now on complete bed rest all he gets to do is barely walk outside to p*e and p**p and he’s back in my bedroom! I’ll be watching him like a hawk!!!!

When I say all the dogs that get adopted go to great homes, I’m not kidding! This is Chachi. I got him with 4 siblings back in March from a horrible nasty shelter about to be euthanized! I took all 5 of them! They were very sickly and full of worms. One of the siblings passed away three days after I got them. Since then the remaining four went to the east coast and adopted. The last to be adopted was Chachi on 7/25. His new family threw him an adoption party! I think it’s safe to say he’s going to be loved!

Yall!!! This boy got up out of the kennel by himself, walked thru the waiting room , went outside , p*ed for 3 minutes. Pooped for 1 minute. Then he went over to my car and actually jumped into the back (I had to help just a little bit) 🥰🥰🥰this dog is amazing!

OK, let’s hope third times a charm. We’re off to the vet to see if we can get this bad leg removed, so Baxter can have him the life he deserves. This dog is so amazing. All he needed was a little love.

Feeding time!!! This little guy/girl has been with me about 10days. we’ve gone from feedings EVERY 15 minutes to now about every 2 hours and sleeps thru the night! It flys good now but I have yet to see it eat and drink on its own. It has me thinking… is it still to young to be released or is it playing me for the free food handouts? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂😂 the video is a little long, but I want you to see the little bald spot on the side of its neck. Thats its feed sack and that’s where it stores the food to allow it to dissolve and eat. Also, please remember if you find a baby bird do NOT give it water. when they’re little like that, they’re unable to drink. they will aspirate and die.

Tails just came in for his morning playtime and get some loving from his friends. Then he eats and back outside he goes! 🥰🥰. Last night I woke up around 2:30 and found him curled up to my back. lol I thought it was Tipton! 😊

Here’s a little story…. On 6/13 I rcvd a tiny tiny mouse. He was doing really good. But was mean as hell. Always tried to bite me when I was feeding. So I just let him stay In the kennel and fed him. He finally started eating on his own around 6/24. On 6/26 when I went to change his food and water he was GONE! The little stinker slipped thru a tiny crack in the cage! So now I have a mouse running loose In my house! I’m thinking surely he found his way outside….NOPE!!! Yesterday morning I watched him run under my refrigerator!!!!!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️At least he’s still alive!!!

Before I go buy it.. thought I’d ask first…. Does any one have any corrugated tin they want to get rid of? I need it to build some shade covers for the big dogs. I keep buying the shade tarps and the dogs keep eating them ! It’s costing me a fortune! 2 days and they are demolished ! I don’t think I need that many sheets. I just need to build a cover in the middle of their pens to allow shade throughout the day

UPDATE: bloodwork still not up to par hemoglobin has came up really good, but unfortunately, not enough for surgery. Home We go for another two weeks. I’m not taking any chances with the low hemoglobin.

Today’s the day let’s hope his blood work is in line and let’s hope he has a smooth surgery and an easy recovery. I know it’s for the best he suffered long enough with that bad leg.  thank you to everyone that has donated to his surgery. I hope you know how grateful I am for each and everyone of you. 🥰🥰❤️❤️

Nugget has had her favorite dog bed since she was a baby. It has to be grey and it has to be furry and round. Today she moved up to a “large”. She has always buried her head in them and sucks on them like a pacifier! Whatever makes you happy my sweet girl! 🥰🥰

Now that piglet is in his big pen, I brought the little girls out to let them have some play time.

Today piglet moved into his big boy yard and pool. It was NOT an easy task to get him to budge! Luckily Caidy was here and she helped. We tried everything even to the point where we were dangling apples. But he wasn’t having it! Finally Caidy suggested a big kennel and then scoot him across the yard… well he wasn’t cooperating. So next was a flattened cardboard box on the bottom. I pulled and Caidy pushed. Once we got to the gate he had no problem entering his new place! Pretty sure he’s in love with it. And, he’s got a big ole pool now to. There are three videos. 1 checking out the little pools. 2. Figuring out how to walk up the rock to get onto his big pool and 3. Getting out of the big pool. All in all mission accomplished. 😂😂😂😂

I got a feeling when it comes time for his leg to be removed , he’s not gonna miss it at all!!🥰🥰

Poor piglet.. he’s officially an outside pig now. He elected to stop using the p pads and decided to start eating my Sheetrock! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️I think “IF” I ever retire from animal rescue I’ll have to build me a new house!😂😂😂😂😂

Belly full babies! No more making their meal in a big bowl. I’m now up to a stew pot and they’re not quite 5 weeks old! 😂😂😂😂. Notice the sheets on the floor. I go thru a lot of them with babies. There’s to much pee and poop to wash them so I dispose! If anyone has old bedding you want to get rid of, torn or stained I don’t mind, please take to B&B thrift store in Leakey on 7th street. She holds things for me till I come into town 🥰 #ilovewhatido #noanimalshouldbesad
