Buck is here to remind us to stay body positive in the new year! Keeping your pup at a healthy weight lowers their risk of certain health problems like arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, breathing problems, back problems, kidney disease, and some forms of cancer. It also can reduce their risk of joint injuries associated with excess weight. Let’s get those walks in this year!

As 2024 comes to a close, does your pup need help with their resolutions? A couple ideas from Zippy and the :
- Come when called. Recall is super important to the humans!
- Stop pulling on the leash. Walking nicely instead of dragging the humans down the street.
- Sit for greetings instead of jumping on guests.
- Stop scooting across carpets. Hey now, no one is perfect!
If you and your pup are ready for a new year, new me, let us know how we can help!

Emma, Kuma and Zippy are here with pet safety tips from the to help you prepare for a fun and safe New Year’s Eve with your pups!
- Keep an eye on the alcohol. Alcohol ingestion can lead to depression, unsteady walking, vomiting, and in severe cases, a serious drop in blood pressure and body temperature.
- Be wary of fireworks. Ensure that your pup has a safe, comfortable place to find sanctuary away from the booming sounds.
- Plan ahead for your pups. Before you go out, do a quick double check around the house to make sure that all exits are secured, and do what you can to make your pup feel comfortable and safe at home.
Stay safe this holiday season!

Zippy made sure the stockings are hung by the chimney with care! No matter what your holiday plans are this year, your pups are probably part of them. Try to provide a quiet space away from company where they can feel safe, but still have access to fresh water and cozy blankets. Take time to play with them and give extra cuddles and stress-relieving walks. Have a happy and safe holiday!

Thanksgiving is a time for friends, family and food! It’s important to keep your pup in mind while giving thanks.
Many foods that are for people are poisonous to pets, including chocolate, onions, raisins, xylitol, grapes, etc. If you believe your pet has been poisoned or has eaten something they shouldn’t have, immediately call your veterinarian or local veterinary emergency clinic. Have a safe holiday!

Twix is getting this boo crew ready for Halloween!  Do you have your pet plan in place? To distract from a frenzy of trick-or-treaters, or if you’re hosting guests, you can set your cat or dog up away from all the chaos with their favorite toys (such as a delicious chew or food puzzle toy for dogs, and interactive toys for cats). This tactic can soothe energetic pets and those who are anxious around crowds of people or children.

Kuma is getting into the spirit of Halloween! Are you and your family ready? Friendly reminder to make sure to keep candy safely stashed in a high cabinet secured with a lock or child-safety latch. Many foods, such as chocolate, gum and xylitol (a sweetener used in many foods) are hazardous to pets. If you suspect your pet has eaten something that’s bad for them, call your veterinarian or the Poison Control Center immediately.

My Story

My fervent wish to “help dogs help people” has lead me to provide services for various Monterey County Search And Rescue groups, perform therapy dog work in homeless and women’s shelters, nursing homes, libraries, and in my local hospitals. I hope that you will choose to join me, whether it is to make a difference in the dog and human community, or to help you turn your home from chaos to a place of peace.
