Kit Cat Club of Hamilton Street cat and kitten rescue group in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We are rescuing cats again now in 2023! We need your help!
(25)

Kit Cat Club stopped operation when its founder, Gail McGinnis, retired and then moved out of province in 2018. Lisa Blaney took it over but serious injuries and other personal issues and then the COVID pandemic slowed the process of starting up the rescue again, except for fundraising. Kit Cat Club is a cat rescue in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We find new homes for abandoned and stray cats and ki

ttens. We have them spayed and neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, snap tested, and any other neccessary treatment at our veterinarian. Our group is trying to help with the overpopulation of cats in Hamilton. By having our feral cats spayed/neutered and released, these cats will not keep reproducing and will lower the number of homeless cats in a humane way. By liking our page and sharing our posts to let others know we need their help, you can assist us and the cats to find homes. If you can foster cats, in a spare bedroom or integrated with your own pets, please let us know. Volunteers are also needed to help set up weekly garage sales early Saturday mornings on the mountain in the good weather. Donations of cat food, litter, and bedding are always appreciated. Items that can be resold will help raise money for vet bills, as will monetary donations, which are gratefully accepted. Unfortunately, we can't give tax receipts as we aren't a registered charity. An accountant was going to file it, no charge, but found the laws have changed and lawyers have to do it now, which is very expensive. If you are a lawyer or know a cat aficianado lawyer who would register us for a lower fee or pro bono, please let us know. We will keep you informed about what the city and HBSPCA are offering to help you and your neighbours to help your own pets, such as vaccination or spay/neuter clinics. Our Story

UPDATE: Gail McGinnis, the founder and administrator of Kit Cat Club retired in October 2018. Long-time foster/driver/fundraiser, Lisa Blaney opted to take over as administrator and revive the rescue. But due to a catastrophic injury in 2019 and deaths in her family, rescuing cats is still on hold. Fundraising efforts are still in place, such as clothing drives and new ventures are added like collecting items such as empty Febreze containers, razors, and cigarette butts and packages for Terra-Cycle. We look forward to resuming cat rescuing in 2020.
