This is Greta, she is a 5 yr old Mali. Don't let that name Mali turn you away. She is not that CRAZY dog you see running up trees or over fences. She is a very mellow girl. She is great with dogs, cats (if they don't run and then she wants to check them out)
She walks in the field with Goats, Chickens, Sheep and the feral cats.
Good with kids and ALL people. She knows no stranger.
Loves car rides, Food motivated, Learning Basic commands. She has picked up Sit, Down, Stay, Leave it and walks great on a leash but will take a min for her brain to slow down, (she loves to GO places)
She is not fond of Storms.
Would not do well in another home that has an overactive dog. She was a great mommy dog at one time and thinks she still has to "correct" bad behavior

She is in a foster home now with 2 other malis, and 2 pups. And does well.

Her back story. She was found in North Florida and believed to be just another breeder dog. When they were done with her she was dumped or let go. A great person took time out to help her and got her to a vet and checked her out. From there she found MAD Rescue ~~ Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc.
and a foster home. She has been fully vetted and is ready for her home.

READ Doc STORY and you will know why!!
You may be sick of my post by now, But I and many other are sick of reading post like this. OR having to live with the thought of the next dog we rescue may end this way. When will it stop? When we stand together and make it stop. This sweet Boy didn't need to die! His breeder should have been there for him if no other person was. NO! It was a rescue. A rescue put in their unconditional love to help save this dog with no luck. Because a breeder sold his to an uneducated person who "just wanted the breed" and the breed is the one to suffer.
Thank you MAD Rescue ~~ Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. for allowing this boy to have a chance at life. So Sorry for the loss.
This pain is never easy. I didn't know the dog, but I sit here with tears for the pain he felt and the pain the foster family feels.
Please sing my petition and make sure all and I MEAN ALL pups or dog who go from one home to the other are Chipped!!

Our sweet crossed the rainbow bridge tonight.
He went into the vet today to get stabilized. Over the course of the day he deteriorated and needed an emergency transfusion, his RBC count was almost non-existent. Doc's heart gave out before he was able to get a transfusion and after CPR, his heart rate was very low. His body did not have enough strength to carry him through and we made the decision to let him go peacefully.
Doc spent the weekend sunbathing, helping cook meals, getting scratches and feeling the outpouring of love from his foster mom and the MAD pack.
Times like this really make us question rescue. It isn't always joyous and celebratory, it reminds us that we are the light in a sometimes very dark world. It is hard to put into words the love we can have for something we just brought into our lives, it shows us as a community, we can make small differences.
Doc passed away knowing love, compassion and family. Thank you for helping him feel that.
Thank you to his foster momma for making sure he was not alone and that he was loved beyond words. Our love goes out to you as well ❤️

We are officially closed due to lack of community support.
Storm was adopted by his foster mom and is now a therapy dog.
Gunny was also adopted by his foster mom and we are hoping he will become a search dog.

We are officially closed.
Due to lack of community support and funds, we have closed our door.

We have helped many from TNR, giving food, spay or neuter owned pets to finding unwanted dogs, pups and kittens a new home
We even went out to trap dogs who were dumped in woods or abandoned buildings

We are sad but there are many other great rescue groups out there

Storm would love his forever home
We wanted to make his a service dog for a veteran but that didn’t work out. No fault for his.
The veterans are looking for mobility and he is to short for that

He, as you can see, is good with most dogs. He “thinks” he has to correct a dog that is not showing good manners. He walks well on a leash. His house and crate trained. Is a very mellow boy most of the time. No cats as he does tend to chase them when they run. Email.
