UPDATE: Well, after recovery this baby will feel better than she has felt in a very long time. They removed the biggest stone they've ever removed from her bladder. She has a grade one heart murmur on the left and right sides and she is heartworm positive. We were able to go ahead and spay her so everything is done. She will be on antibiotics for several wks.

Brownie, our sweet mama dog, is headed to the vet to get some issues checked out and get spayed hopefully if there are no complications. She's such a sweet precious girl will everyone please say a prayer that everything is good with her. I will update later today. Donations can be sent through Venmo or PayPal or [email protected]. 🚨 URGENT MICROCHIP ALERT FOR PET OWNERS! 🚨

The microchip company Save This Life has suddenly ceased operations, leaving many pet microchips unregistered and untraceable. Several vets, shelters, and rescues, like us, have used this company for thousands of dogs over the years. We need your help to spread the word and reach as many pet owners as possible!

Currently if your pet were to become lost, there is no way for any shelter or vet hospital to find your information. You must register your pet’s microchip with a new company.

What You Need to Do:

Check Your Pet’s Microchip Status: Use the AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool to see if your pet’s microchip is registered with an active database. Check here.

Re-Register the Microchip: If your pet's microchip was registered with Save This Life, re-register it with another provider ASAP. Some alternative registries include:

Update Your Contact Information: Ensure your phone number and address are current in the new registry. Don't forget to update a current picture of your pet.

Use Multiple Forms of Identification: Make sure your pet wears a collar with ID tags displaying your contact info.

Need Help? If you don’t know your pet’s microchip number, call your vet office or bring them in to be scanned—it's a free service. Pets can also be scanned at most animal shelters, rescues, animal control agencies, and some major pet stores. If you adopted a dog from us, you can find the microchip number in your contract, or you can email us at [email protected] requesting it.
