Due to lack of professional Groomers, Cortez Animal Bed & Breakfast will not be offering grooming services at this time. However, we will be more than happy to watch your pet when you are gone. With our huge play yards you can rest assured your dog will not be bored. Cortez Animal Bed & Breakfast offers day stay and extended stays for Dogs and Cats.

Cortez Animal Bed & Breakfast is looking for a friendly pet groomer to perform all grooming-related duties necessary to ensure that pets are neat, clean, and look their best. The pet groomer’s responsibilities include bathing animals of various sizes and temperaments, trimming, clipping, or shaving hair/fur, and removing matted hair. You should also be able to ensure that grooming tools and equipment are in good working condition.

To be successful as a pet groomer, you should be able to comply with pet owners' instructions as well as accommodate any special requests that they may have. Ultimately, a top-notch Pet Groomer will treat all animals with the utmost love and care.

Pet Groomer Responsibilities:
-Dematting and detangling hair as required.
-Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets.
-Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears.
-Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.
-Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
-Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.
-Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
-Routinely cleaning work areas.
-Recommending suitable products to pet owners.

Pet Groomer Requirements:

-Proven professional grooming experience is preferred but not required
-Sound understanding of animal behavior.
-The ability to stand for long periods of time.
-The ability to treat all animals with compassion.
-The ability to lift heavy pets and equipment. Up to 60lbs.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Exceptional customer service skills.

Cortez Animal Bed & Breakfast is looking for the right person to join our team. If you love animals, self motivated, clean freak and want to learn, this may be the job you've been looking for. Cortez Animal Bed & Breakfast is looking for a kennel assistant who is interested in learning. The right person will be trained how to groom dogs. Duties include waiting on customers, cleaning and most importantly looking after our furry customers.
Starting wage depends on experience. You will be required to work some split shifts, holidays and weekends. Average week will be approximately 32 hours.

Cortez Animal Bed & Breakfast is seeking a highly motivated animal lover to join their team as a kennel assistant!
As a kennel assistant you will be providing animals with their everyday needs while their owners are away. Job duties include feeding cats and dogs, administering medications as needed, providing a clean safe environment for the animals, playing with them and giving lots of love and attention. You will also be required to help with front desk duties such as; answering phones, helping check animals in and out , using the computer to schedule appointments, filing and using a cash register.
No experience necessary, just care and compassion for animals. This position is full time, (can be part time for the right person) and will require work on Weekends and Holidays. Candidates must have some computer skills, able to understand and operate a cash register, be able to be on your feet for long periods, lift 50lbs, have strong communication skill (with other employees and customers), be able to follow directions, basic cleaning skills, willingness to help out team members and have a go getter personality!
