We're at it again!
Group Obedience Classes are now Open for Enrollment!!

Dates: Monday evenings starting June 21st
Duration: 5 weeks (no class July 5th)
Time: 6:00PM - 7:00PM
Location: Clearwater County Fairgrounds - Bagley, MN
Cost: $175 per dog/handler team

Got a leash-puller or jumper? Nervous barker or lunger? We’re here for you!

This 5-week program is designed for non-aggressive dogs over 6 months of age that need a tune-up when it comes to basic manners. In this class, we focus mainly on the foundational skills that all pet dogs need in order to be considered "good canine citizens" and well-behaved canine companions. We will be loosely following the "10 essential skills" goals laid out by the AKC Canine Good Citizen program:

1. Accepting a friendly stranger
2. Sitting politely for petting
3. Appearance and grooming
4. Walking on a loose leash
5. Walking through a crowd
6. Sit/Down on command and staying in place
7. Coming when called
8. Reaction to another dog
9. Reaction to distraction
10. Supervised separation

Ideally, by the end of the 5 weeks, each dog should understand each of these skills well enough to be able to pass a CGC evaluation and complete a novice-level competition obedience course. Though we do not (currently) evaluate for the AKC CGC program in any official capacity, each participant will have a chance to practice in a mock-eval and run through a rally course in the final class of the session.

It's a ton of fun!

We understand everyone has concerns and are trying to keep their families safe and healthy from the Covid-19 virus (aka Coronavirus). Many people are attempting to stop the spread of the virus by rigorously cleaning and sanitizing everything that they can. However, everyone should be aware that not all cleaning and disinfecting products are safe for our furry family members.

In fact, several of the most popular disinfecting products are NOT pet friendly. Many products ending in -sol (Lysol, Pine Sol, etc) contain a chemical called phenol which can cause liver damage in pets and sensitive individuals. Lysol gives off potentially volatile organic compounds in its v***r. Additionally, if your pet licks or ingests Lysol, it can cause serious chemical burns in the tongue or upper esophagus.

Please be mindful as you disinfect your homes and keep the health of your animal companions in mind as well. Read the ingredients lists, and do your research. There are better options out there. Anything that you’re willing to use on or around your body should be safe enough to go IN your body (which is where it ultimately ends up anyway) The same holds true for our pets...perhaps even more so!
