Friends of WaltonPets.net Volunteer-run page featuring the urgent dogs and cats available at WCAC in Monroe, Georgia. Since I can’t adopt them all, it is the least I can do.

Friends of WaltonPets.net is a volunteer-run page that was created to highlight the dogs and cats available for immediate adoption and rescue at the Walton County animal shelter - a small, rural, government-run shelter located in Monroe, Georgia. It is run by one volunteer who watches www.waltonpets.net and I make updates when I can. The shelter does not have control over the postings of this page

, nor do they have the time to monitor them, so always email the shelter directly at [email protected] for inquiries and applications. Since I am a volunteer, I do not work for or at the shelter, and I cannot temperament-test animals, guess their age or breed, transport or check on the status of your application. I post updates the same time the shelter does - during their business hours. Please check www.waltonpets.net for the most current updates, or contact the shelter directly at (770) 267-1322 or [email protected] Please remember that they are a small, short-staffed and extremely busy shelter, so they may not always be able to get to the phone. If you get the answering machine, please leave a message and they will call you back as time allows. You can check the shelter’s hours here: https://www.waltoncountyga.gov/152/Directions-Hours

This is also not a "lost and found" page. This page is exclusively for the animals at Walton County Animal Control, so I cannot share your lost pet posts here. If you have lost a pet, please register them for free at www.helpinglostpets.com (the shelter uses them exclusively) and the shelter will receive automatic updates from their database to look out for your pet. If you have found a stray pet, please register them at www.helpinglostpets.com You can also take them to any PetSmart or local vet and have them scanned for a microchip for free. I am not affiliated with Walton County Animal Control or www.waltonpets.net in any way; I am just getting the word out there! If you can’t adopt, foster or rescue - please help by sharing these precious souls far and wide! All photos by Bill Wise, © 2011 - 2024, www.williamwisephoto.com
