Hello everyone, my name is Riley TooLouLou Belle, mom calls me Riley the Midget Hound, because I was raised by Retired Greyhound Brood Mommas. Thank you.

I'm in charge of all new Hospice, Fospice and End of Life siblings that come here, and the unrooley fosters. Riley is a Chocolate dapple Dachshund that doesn't realize she is a Dachshund. Riley was raised in a house full of Retired Racing Greyhounds and Brood Mommas.. When Riley came home as a pup, the Brood mommas took her under their paws and raised her up like one of their own...So Riley honest

ly believes that she is a Greyhound, a Retired Racer at that. Riley has mastered the fine art of sleeping and "roaching" on sofas, beds and anything soft and comfortable. Riley refuses to sleep on the floor. She has also tuned into her Dachshund tendencies and has figured out that Greyhound bellies are the perfect place to stay warm. Riley is the ruler of this little ranch house. She informs the humans when it is feeding time and when it is bed time...if the rules aren't followed, expect to hear an ear full. Speaking of hearing an ear full...Riley has also mastered the Greyhound "ROOOOOO"

Riley has watched so many various dogs come and go and her Momma and Daddy Dude have worked in Rescue, and Foster dogs have come and gone. But now that they are now involved with SCDR/NCDR, they are truly overwhelmed. Who know that there were so many Dachshunds out there needing so much help?!!! The Momma and Daddy Dude have stuck to their guns and have stayed true to their beliefs that they want to help the Super Seniors, End of Lifers, Hospice and Fospice. These are usually the heart breakers and the Vet Bills for Momma and Daddy Dude, as well as our Group (SCDR.Org). Momma refuses to let an abandoned elderly Dachshund pass alone in a shelter. So all of us here, "The Krewe" will shed love upon this pup and give them a bucket list of love and feast, before their journey to The Rainbow Bridge. We will be asking for donations towards the help of these babies often, so please be prepared. All donations will be going to www.SCDR.Org.

So we were recently guided by our Angel pups, to rescue and adopt a special little girl.
Welcome to The Krewe of Rooo, little Miss Rooogie (Rougaroux).
Rooogie is a Brussels Griffon, and she is just amazing! We learned about this breed via an amazing little foster pup named Sazerac.
We don’t like puppies, but Brussels Griffon pups are amazingly smart, so we were hooked.
It’s strange to have a youngster in the house lol.

It’s been a heartbreakingly difficult time here at The Krewe of Rooo
In two weeks, we lost three amazing pups!
First was Chikory, (12y) who was a hospice pup with a really bad heart. We were blessed to have him 8 months.
Then our Queen earned her wings. Riley (14y) was Da Momma’s best heart pup and companion. Then four days later, we lost our forever foster, Bayou.
Bayou (8y) was a stunning little blue girl that had a heart of platinum, but she was so terrified of the world. Da Momma was able to be her best friend and companion for just over a year.
Yesterday, Bayou came home, last Friday, Riley came home and last Monday, Chikory came home.
Sadly, we now have 39 Urns on our wall.
I made a promise that I will love them until my last breath.
So please hug your pets extra today.

Losing Riley the Midget Hound today is literally the most difficult and exhausting process for me, ever!
I was not a fan of Dachshunds originally, but my M-I-L had one and I was in charge of doing his nails and a**l glands,(because I was a groomer). I truly hated this dog, because he wanted my ass for lunch and then some!
Then “Rufus” passed away and we decided to get her another Dachshund, to help my M-I-L through her Cancer issues.
But the minute that Riley set her paws on the ground, all of my kids screamed…”She can’t go up the Hill, because Jerry will kill her”.
To understand, Jimmy’s brother, Jerry, he is extreme at the least. So Momma Riley was here to stay. I never expected that she would become my heart pup and such an intrigal part of my life! Over the years, she would accept each and every new “foster pup”, be it a greyhound or in years to follow, dachshunds.
Riley was raised by two amazing Retired Racing Greyhounds/Brood Mommas…Louise, (Ouiser) and her sister, Nakita (Kitty)…so Riley never knew that she was a Dachshund, she always knew that she was a midget greyhound! And it was Louise that was our awakening to Senior Pups! We were hooked, in every aspect.
We took in many Retired Racing Greyhound Broods over the years…and this was our mission as we transitioned into Dachshunds, after most tracks closed and it was difficult to get greyhounds on the West Coast, greyhounds were not part of our furthering mission to rescue. So we went with dachshunds…and from there, we wanted to take in every super Senior, Special Needs, and Hospice…because no dog should pass alone, without love, especially in a shelter!
Riley was always the first pup to welcome every pup into this insanity that we call “The Krewe of Rooo”.
I am so heartbroken that I am literally unable to function at this time…she was my everything! It has taken me over 5 hours to write this. I know that “Heart Pups” come and go…but it is never easy…
When we went into rescue, our mantra has always been…”I will love you until my last dying breath”.
We are currently at 36+ Urns, and sadly, it’s going to grow.
So please, hug your fur-babies so much more, today and tomorrow!

Please hug your pups extra over the next 24 hours.
Riley is failing and now she refuses to eat....So tomorrow, Daddy Man and I will be giving Riley her special wings.
Riley came to me 14.5 years ago as a pup that was originally purchased for my M-I-L, but my kids wouldn't let her go up the hill....so Riley Talloulou-Bell became my heart dog and best companion friend since then!
My heart is literally crushing and shattering into a million pieces. But we are giving her whatever she wants to nibble on...Filet Mignon, yogurt, whippy cream....and so on.
Riley will get to fly up to the Rainbow Bridge and reunite with her Greyhound Mommas...Ouiser, (Louise) and Kitty, (retired racing and brood Momma dogs, adopted as Seniors). This is how Riley got the Moniker of Riley the Midget Hound. She never realized that she is a Dachshund, she honestly believes she is a Greyhound.
So please keep Riley, Daddy Dude and Da Momma in your positive thoughts and prayers as we deal with the next few hours.

Well…
Da Momma is at it again! After finally adopting out 4 gorgeous senior pups that lived their entire lives in a barn stall and only a 75 watt light bulb for light and heat.
Plus a really great Brussels Griffon puppy, that we were informed that she had parvo, AFTER they placed her in Daddy Dude’s arms.
Now Da Momma has taken in three sweet but shy little girls, from a breeder in Southern CA.
Da Momma says that it’s our job to help them learn how to finally be snuggle pups. I can do that!

Da Momma has had a busy day.
Today she rescued and transported 3 Senior Dachshunds. Their daddy and mommy passed away. We saved them via a Craigslist ad.
Da Momma is fostering Mr Peanut and the two others are happy in their foster homes.
Once he gets his dental, he will be listed and adoptable via SCDR.org in the NorCal section. 🐾❤️🐾

The Krewe of Rooo are so very happy to welcome Morpheus…fka Melvin.
So far, Morpheus is settling in just fine and happily ate his dinner. He is loving all the soft fluffy blankets on the big bed.
Morpheus is gearing up to watch the Krewe of Morpheus, Mardi Gras parade in a couple weeks. It’s good to be the King 👑.

Here are the NYE puppies, that Da Momma was hustling to find a foster home for. We found a temporary place and now they are in their permanent foster home, until they are ready for adoption.
We were told they were a couple days old, but come to find out, they were a couple weeks old. They are now 5 weeks old and on the move.

Well, good news and some bad news…
Chicory is going to be my new hospice pup. His heart murmur is way too extreme to even consider to go under anesthesia. So no neuter/dental for him.
Noelle doesn’t have any mammory tumors, and her heart is great! So now I wait for a call for their next available appointment for her spay/dental. Dr Barrett also believes that Noelle is about 9-10 years old.
So that’s the latest news from The Krewe For Wayward Hounds.
I’m still happy that they were able to get out of the shelter for Christmas.

My new foster pups had a wonderful first night here at The Krewe For Wayward Hounds. They got to enjoy good food and the big bed with lots of warm blankets. Both Chicory and Noelle slept hard and happy.

We are going to have two new senior friends coming to The Krewe For Wayward Hounds this Christmas.
Da Momma saw Noelle online and found out that she was abandoned in a box! And then saw that Chicory was abandoned at a shelter, because he is blind, grade 5 heart murmur and bad teeth!
So Da Momma asked her rescue group if we could go get them and they said yes!
So yippee, they won’t be alone and cold at Christmas.

Da Momma is at it again! She brought in three more foster babies, but thankfully only one will be staying! The other two will be heading out in the morning to Reno, to our Reno branch of our Adoption Group.
And finally two of the other fosters are getting their dentals tomorrow, so finally they will be ready to go up on the Adoption page real soon.

Tomorrow is going to be very difficult and heartbreaking 💔 for me, Da Krewe but espesfully for Da Momma and Daddy Dude.
Franklin, one of our Misfit Hospice brothers will be going to da Rainbows Bridge. Ya see dat big tumors that he canes here with, Da Momma hads it removes twice, but it grews back with a vengeance.
Well tonight it ruptured and Da Momma was able to clean it ups and wrap it, so that she and Daddy Dude can let Frankie Pants, as Da Momma calls hims, haves a great last day. Sometings about In-&-Out burgers, puppaccino, picnic in Da park and ofer things, before he leaves on his journey.
I’m gonna misses him cause he was a great snuggle buddy and friend. 🐾😊❤️🤗🐾

Well Da Momma is at it again BOL!
A couple weeks ago, her and a friends went and rescued three dachshund family members out of a really bad situation. And Da Momma and her friends thought that they might get shanked in the process, but thankfully dogs are safe.
In a little bit, Da Mommas going out to pick up a brover and sister bonded pair, that are spooks and scape artists…oh whats fun for alls of us! But at least they be cute!

So sorry that we have been MIA.
Da Momma has been so busy and has had control of my iPawd. So let me update you with some info…
We have been waist deep in Dachshund rescue work. Now that people have been going back to work and school, pups are being relinquished right and left. So all of our foster homes are flooded. Plus Da Momma works with The Cajun Navy Relief during Hurricane Ida, since we have a lot of family and friends in South Louisiana.
But we all here at The Krewe of Wayward Misfit Hounds hope that you all are doing well and are safe.
