The Rocky/Fire Puppy Is Here! Fire had a single female pup early yesterday morning. “Fiona” is dark yellow/red and very healthy. She is available to an approved home, and will be ready to go home in 8 weeks. Contact us for details.

Desi Update (6 months)- She is showing a lot of drive and fearlessness. This was her intro to deep water and she did not hesitate swimming for the first time. Desi is ready for formal upland and retriever training. I delivered her to In Flight Retrievers this week to start down the path to a finished gun dog. She will return home for hunting season this Fall.

CPR Battlemtn’s For Whom The Bell Tolls (7/24/10-5/29/24)

Bella passed away this week at the age of 13. She was the foundation of our kennel and the best hunting dog I have ever owned. I have countless memories from traveling around the country with her hunting birds in new locations, as well as our favorite spots. She helped introduced Mason to upland hunting, and showed him what a good hunting dog should be. Bella produced over 40 puppies that went all over the U.S and Canada. She is the Grandmother of hundreds of pointing labs and will continue to impact the breed for some time. We will miss her.

Desi Update 10 weeks Old- She is retrieving reliably in the house and we are transitioning to outdoors with distractions. She has a lot of drive and loves to train. Introduction to live birds has been going well and she has started pointing birds. Desi is showing a lot of potential and is fitting in well with the family.

We picked up our new addition today! This is Mackinaw Valley’s Northstar Seek and Destroy (Desi). She is from a very special breeding of 4xGMPR High Caliber Diamondback’s General Mad Dog Mattis MH (Chaos) and CPR Lockdown Moxies Stiff Drink (Morgan). Chaos is the son of FC AFC CFC CAFC Barracuda Blue MH. Morgan is the daughter of 4xGMPR Griz and is the half sister of our Mia. We have big plans for Desi over the next few years.

Kansas 2023- Mason’s first trip to Rex’s place was memorable. The upland birds did not cooperate, but the duck hunting was fantastic. We had several hunts with hundreds of birds working the decoys. The highlight of the trip was an incredible retrieve made by Fire. She navigated through flooded trees and across a deep channel, busting ice the whole way to retrieve a big drake mallard at least 100 yards from where she entered the water.

Mason set a goal for Fire to complete the “trifecta” this weekend, which was to retrieve a pheasant, a duck, and blood trail a deer within 24 hours. She successfully completed his mission and is exhausted.

Dale is working on sitting and playing fetch tonight with Mason. Dale would love to find his forever home and someone to play fetch with him all day everyday.

Dale was hanging out in the sun after his vet appointment. He is 17 lbs and got his second set of shots! He gave the vet tons of kisses and got plenty of treats for being a good boy.
