When you’re hot, you’re hot! That’s what Frank said. He’s hot,
Save the horses, Talking Rock, Georgia Farm
We call her Ruby Sunrise. Ruby came from an auction and they have traveled through several auctions before she landed here. She’s a beautiful horse, but she didn’t look like that when we first got her she was thin, her coat was dull and her eyes were full of fear. She wouldn’t come near any people at all and when we put food in her bucket, we have to walk away or she wouldn’t eat. We know she didn’t feel good, but we didn’t know why. Gain some weight, but was still out of shape one morning. She surprised us by having a foal. I think it was a surprise to her too because she wanted nothing to do with it. She went about her own horse business and never looked back at the foal .
We took care of the fall and sent her to the University of Tennessee for a week after few visits here at the farm. We wanted full to live, and it was our best choice, even though it was quite expensive.
Now back to Ruby. She looks like a thoroughbred mare. She’s beautiful and sound. She still very afraid of different things like something as simple as having a door open that she never saw opened before. Most horses would take advantage of that, but she didn’t actually made her stop. I would call Ruby a project. It’s going to take a while for her to feel comfortable in her own skin and in her surroundings wherever they are.
The best way for me to describe it is she has PTSD. Post traumatic stress syndrome. Some people may call it spooky and she can’t act that way, but there is a reason. We may not know what it is because we do not know where she was or what happened to her on her journey. What we can do is make sure the next part of her journey is full of love, compassion and patience. If you’re interested in adopting contact adoption.@savethehorses. Org #SaveTheHorsesOrg #WeAreRescue
I love these chickens. I think they know they came from a chicken house and they appreciate that they were spared their life. They are super friendly. They need a little feather fixer but they’ll be looking better in no time. If you’re looking for some egg layers that are also very friendly contact @jackiemannaert Alpharetta, GA
This mother and son Donkey combo we’re very afraid when they first came in to SaveTheHorses. We put them in a stall with an outside paddock and a window that’s open to the kitchen. At first, they wouldn’t come in if they saw us in the window, but they quickly learn to be a little beggars, and ask for carrots when they see us in the kitchen. They are almost healthy enough to put up for adoption together. If you’re interested, contact [email protected]
