At least one of us is having fun this Monday morning! Sadie is a ray of sunshine ☀️

This cute young girl is 2 years old and perfect size at 55 lbs. She has velvety natural ears and a docked tail. She was originally found stray and the finders could not keep her. She is crate trained and housetrained. She knows the command ‘sit’ and we’re told she walks nicely on a leash. She is friendly with both male and female dogs. However, she doesn’t like small animals and likely won’t like cats either. She needs some fine-tuning with her training but with a little love, patience, and consistency, she’ll make a great companion.

Hellooooooo Stanley!!

This 16 month, all natural boy came in to IDR+ around the start of the year and was adopted the end of February. The family that adopted him had a female dog that just did not care for him one bit, so he was returned. Now Stanley is back to looking for the perfect fit for him.

During the time after being adopted, he did a 2-week board and train so he knows some commands and has a great foundation to learn more. The trainer that did the board and train will honor some additional training that was part of the package!

Stanley is a very nice boy and he’s very friendly with people and the other dogs that are in his foster home. He has a lot of energy so he will need a solid fenced in yard to stretch those legs when he gets the zoomies. If you’d like to meet this guy, contact IDR+ today!

Meet Pauly! ☀️

Pauly is a 2-year-old blue Doberman and he weighs about 60 pounds – and is very food motivated! He came to us after being found stray. He seems to like other dogs but has no concept of what “gentle” means so if he were to meet another dog, they would have to understand his play style and a slow introduction would be best. He is a sharp listener and comes when called and is ready to work. He has not been cat tested. He’s got a good coat for a blue boy!

REFERRAL POST

One of our volunteers is fostering this little old man through a partnering group.

Meet Timothy (or Timmy for short)! This ancient little guy was found wandering stray and sadly was not claimed. In his foster home, Timmy LOVES to hang out with the other dogs and even the kids. He will snuggle right up to the resident Doberman for his afternoon nap. Although he cannot see and likely can barely hear, he doesn’t let that break his spirit. Timmy has excellent manners and knows to potty outside and is a quiet houseguest. He loves to snuggle up to anyone willing to give him some love. Timmy is neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm prevention, and had a dental completed so he is move in ready!

Pico is available for adoption from Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus.
She is about one and a half years old, housebroken, knows a few commands and wants to play with all the other dogs. She goes right in her kennel run and isn't horrible for car rides. On the leash, though, she could use some guidance. Maybe some is putting it lightly... She is a really happy girl so check out the website, maybe you'll find something interesting.

Some additional information from his foster:

He is very inquisitive and loves to explore the yard. He likes having another dog next to him to race up and down with. He easily goes back in his run and is housebroken if kept on a schedule. He loves being petted and loves attention. He has a favorite ball, but gives it up on command so it can stay in his run and not get lost in the yard. He's a very nice boy.

Meet Puddin! This adorable guy was reluctantly surrendered to IDR+ when his owner’s health issues no longer allowed them to care for a dog. Puddin has been going through a whirlwind of changes and will soon be neutered and then off to a foster home where he can settle down and relax and we can get to know him.

He is reported to be friendly to dogs, cats and kids as well and as we learn more about him we’ll update his bio with more details and pictures. Stay tuned!

New kid on the block, Buddy! 🐾

Meet Buddy, your new best friend! This Scottish Terrier mix (maybe Wirehaired Dachshund?) is ready to find his forever home! He’s quite a cute little pup! He’s about 2 years old and a smaller little thing weighing in at 26 pounds. Sadly, his owners were moving and and dogs were not allowed at the new residence. Thank you to Megan Nuccio and her son Anthony for the rawhide chews that kept the dogs busy today while the fence height was being extended. Now these guys can enjoy running with their buddies.
