First day with a camera watching hives and less than 4 hours after installing it, catching pictures.

Just made it back home from setting up 12 beehives. Sounds like a lovely Friday night, sweating till clothes soaked, while dodging venom dripping females that want nothing more than one last wish of penetrating our bodies. That's how we roll. Can you tell...we are exhausted, but hey, next season we may have honey again.
Future beek Jamie.
The family all came together to build 8 hives with 4 boxes each and 360 frames. The sad thing is we still have another 10 to build.
This is what my wife does in the garden
Learn about how to use the deep mulch method in your garden. This method, if done correctly, can give you a happy garden with very few weeds.
Look who is happy with her new trailer
In the past 3 – 4 years, my wife and I have added several revenue channels to our finances. We started with gardening. Soon we found the gateway drug to homesteading, chickens. Then it blew up into rabbits and freeze-dried products. Rabbit manure goes for $20- $45 a bag. Black gold for gardens but I digress. Now we are raising corgis. Soon if all plays out, we will be returning to beekeeping with land to expand our homestead into a farm, fingers crossed. We also added laser engraving and 3d printing services. All while she teaches, and I work in IT building out a cybersec program. The funny thing is all the different service/product lines are related to each other which is why we embraced them even though seemingly unrelated.
I hear conversations all the time where people are complaining that they are not making enough in their 40-hour W2 job. You should see the faces when I ask them why they stop working at 40 hours. I ask if they tried to start a business but most shrug it off with poor responses. The message remains the same. Do not be the victim. Find what you enjoy and build it. Everything else is gravy.
To my friends who follow this page, if you are at all concerned about upcoming events and question whether you will have food available, DM us; we cater to your desire to take care of your family. Do not be caught looking for food like everyone was looking for toilet paper during COVID. Our website is slowly getting built out, but we have so much more.

When two of my passions collided, creating art and gardening, this was the result. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved creating art in one form or fashion or another. When Covid took the world by storm in March of 2020, I planted a victory garden in my backyard. This is one of the sun

Sibling chicks talking across room to fresh hatchling. They are being so talkative.
Nobody is fully out yet but more are now visibly working at it. We can also hear them starting to chirp. So excited!! I could just sit and watch all night.
We started eggs in our incubator about 11 days ago, with 10 more days still to go. We have a broody momma hen that we were hoping would hatch her eggs close to the same time as the ones in the incubator so we could slip the incubator babies in with hers to raise. She had 2 hatch yesterday, unfortunately one did not survive. She still has 3 eggs in her nest. Fingers crossed that they will hatch today or tomorrow. It is so nice to see her being a good momma. When one of the other hens saw the baby for the first time yesterday she got so vocal. You could hear the excitement in her clucking announcing the new arrival to the others. All the chickens and roosters took to the new chick really well. Can’t wait to see more baby chicks out there.
We have no food waste. Black soldier flies turn all our scraps into compost while they turn into chicken feed.
The garden is thriving and surviving in all this rain we have gotten. So glad for my mountains and valleys. Walking through here it is about 6”-8” of water up my leg. The rest of the yard is currently 3”-4”. Tuesday night we had water up to our back door. Another 2” deep and it would have come in. My plants have stayed above the water though.
