Congratulations to the hunters that we helped recover their deer. Many thanks to the hunters for calling us to help. Sorry we could not help everyone.

With the bucks getting in full rut, marginal shots will not kill them!!

We have been busy last 4 days! Not every track is a recovery and a deer on the tail gate. We have jumped 7 deer so far. Some we have caught and a couple we have not. Good for the hunters to see how strong they are 12 to 24 hours after the shot.
Congratulations to the hunters that we helped recovered their deer and tailgated them!
Call or text as soon as you think you need help, so we can plan and schedule your track.

Thanks to the Clinton County hunter that asked us out to help recover his buck.
He was sure he had a good shot Sunday night. They could not find arrow or any blood. They checked a little at the edge of the woods and nothing. They backed out and called. We arrived at 8:30 am, put Gibbs down and he went to work. We only found 5 drops of blood and 1 wound bed the whole 1000 yard track. Gibbs located him in a drainage ditch hiding under the grasses. Nobody could see this deer from anyside of the ditch. Coyotes moved him around and had a little snack.
Found the entrance side good, but the exit side just a small hole. Broadhead failure was the problem. Shot placement was right on.
Congratulations again!

Friday morning I got a call from Michigan Whitetail Tracking and needed some help. His dog was not tracking right and he wanted more help for the hunter.
We start at hit site and Gibbs tracks into the cat tails and heads south along the lake edge. We are on a floating marsh and tunnel trails going everywhere. I see 2 drops of blood and that was good. After a bit we go to the edge of the water and find a wound bed #1, it takes Gibbs a bit to work out of that bed and continues south/west and then finds another bed near the water edge. #2 - We go a ways and then bed # 3. Then Gibbs is getting farther ahead of me and then he starts barking. Which means he found the deer and it is alive. This is 30 hours after the shot. I rush up to see deer entering the mud bank and into the lake. The water level is very low and 20 yards of mud before you get to the water. The deer swims 100 yards out and turns right and swims to a mud island which he lays on. We watched for 45 minutes before we leave, so hunter can get kayak and try to recover his deer from the mud island.
About 3 hours later hunter is on the lake and the deer is gone… He kayak’s around and finds 2 tracks to the shore near where the deer was heading, but could not get to shore due to the mud and very low water.
So Eric and I and the hunter agree to go in this morning and check those 2 areas in hopes of finding his deer dead near the bank. Well that plan worked out. Ketchum had his nose up and winding the deer when we got close to the waters edge and there he was!
Congratulations to the hunter! I am glad I could help! I really enjoyed this track! We did all we could to help recover this deer.

Had a great opening day track. Thought it was a high 1 lung and found out deer was quartering a little towards and the exit was right rear guts and stomach. We tracked to early on this one, but we worked with the hunters schedule and Gibbs did a great job! Gibbs got him up 5 times. On the 4 th he stopped him long enough for a follow up shot. And on the 5 th Gibbs kept him down. Congratulations to the hunter for a great hunt and recovery of his buck!
