An idea: Lets create easy ways for homeowners to offer their yards to those who would like areas to farm/cultivate. Eventually I hope to have a sign that can be downloaded from this site, and below please find some sample agreements that can be used as templates for the purpose of generating more local urban (and possibly suburban) agriculture = FOOD!

What's a hardy kiwi? they look tasty.....

What’s a hardy kiwi?  Recently renamed “kiwi berry” in some marketing, it’s related to the larger fuzzy kiwis.  They’re much smaller than the fuzzy kiwis, about the size of a grape.  Their skin is smooth, no peeling needed.  As the weather turns cold and wet, hardy kiwis are just start...

Here's some good advice: go out and water right now.

We had a great time at CullyFest!  The first annual celebration of the Cully neighborhood, where we’ve been rooted since 2006.  Saw old friends and made new ones, gave out plums and free garden advice, and soaked up the community love.

So much to know about seeds!

Got a big pile of summer fruits and veggies? Want to dry, ferment, or can some for winter? Learn how from this class.

While we relish our fresh summer salads and luscious fruits, we’re also looking ahead to winter when the garden-fresh food is pretty much kale, kale and kale.  Last night we whipped up a batch of sauerkraut, the dryer is full of pears and figs, there’s pear butter simmering in the crockpot.  ....
