Love Running H puppy stories from Denmark:
"Update on Texas. She's been with us for two weeks now and has settled in nicely.
She's got the s***k and the spirit that I wanted while at the same time relaxing and going to sleep when the other dogs are doing their thing at training (we were training steadiness).

My dog trainer tells me that I've gotten a highly intelligent dog and we're having a ball training and planning her training to keep her on the right track and not learning the wrong things. She'll learn after one try - that takes some thinking on my part. We're so very happy to have her ❤️"

This is our 2nd litter with Diesel and we kept a pup named Running H's Omega. She is in training at Red River Retrievers as a yearling, and will be on a pro truck late summer. CHESSIEBOOK FIELD TRIAL NEWS

Congratulations to Charles Jumet & "Marie" (Delta Duck Dogs Catchin Em In The Cypress Break) for earning a Qualifying JAM this past weekend at the Fort Pitt RC trial, which was Marie's first run in a Qualifying stake. Marie is almost 3 yrs old from the Bud x Mully litter bred by Todd Hervey, Running H Retrievers

May 2024 was a busy month for field trial Chessies, with a total of 45 different dogs running in trials at various levels and a total of 11 ribbons earned by 10 different dogs, broken down as follows:

• AKC Amateur - JAM(1)

• AKC Qualifying - 1st(1), 2nd(1), 4th(1), RJ(1), JAM(3)

• SRS Open - 2nd(1)

• SRS Amateur - 2nd(1), 6th(1)

Sorry to say there are no Chessies (or Goldens) among the 101 current entries for the upcoming 2024 National Amateur to be run in Maine starting next Saturday. Nonetheless, the Chessie community will be well represented at the event. Long-time Chessie owner/breeder/handler Michael Coutu is the current President of the National Amateur Club and has spent the last 4+ years preparing to host the event, with some of the 10 series held on his property. Long-time Chessie owner/handler Bruce Ahlers is entered with a Labrador and will be enthusiastically supported by the Chessie folks who attend. Bruce won the 2023 FTS Amateur with D.D., who also earned an Amateur 3rd in April and two recent Amateur JAMs, but she was 1pt shy of the National Amateur qualification requirements. There will also be a small army of Chessie folks working in various roles at the event.
