Pearl has really come out of her shell since she came to CCAS back in April.

She's a mellow lady hoping to find someone looking for a steady life companion. She enjoys toys (especially balls), walks, and even water.

Pearl is very smart and knows the basics like house training, leash training, and commands like sit and paw.

Pearl is not fond of other dogs in her face but would possibly accept a dog who will confidently leave her alone. Otherwise, she may prefer being the one and only canine in the house.

Her adoption fee is waived until September 10.

We're open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday for you to meet Peal and all of our adoptable animals.

Just a Forrest looking for his Jenny. 🏃🐶🏓

Forrest is a four-year-old hound mix who has his bags packed and is ready to run Forrest run to his forever family (just look at the aerodynamics on those ears).

Personality:
Forrest is an absolutely soulful, medium-energy, and loving hound. He is submissive, yet curious about new things in the world and faces them head-on- but gently! Forrest loves to greet every new person and dog with a friendly bow or "play bow" and is a wiggly man.

Skills/ Training:
Forrest is still learning his proper manners on a leash and with greetings but takes direction from people incredibly well and is very eager to learn whatever he needs to so he gets the title "good boy". Forrest is still shy of new people but comes out of his shelll quickly with the right amount of time and treats!

Dog Compatibility:
Forrest is an incredibly versatile version of dog-friendly! Forrest has been with both males and females of different energy and play styles and responded engagingly, and playfully each time. Forrest has the skills to engage a dog but leave them be if they are not interested as well as initiate play gently. Forrest blends into many different dog personalities making him a great option for a canine addition if you have other dogs!

Forrest is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines, and currently has his adoption fee waived!

We're open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for you to meet Forrest and all of our adoptable pets.

Meet Midnight! 🌙🐱

Midnight is a beautiful and unique 2-year-old female with a personality all her own. Midnight is a chatty feline who loves to express herself through her vocalizations, making her a delightful companion for those who enjoy a talkative pet.

Midnight has a preference for solitude and enjoys having her own space to relax and unwind. She's quite fearful and skittish around unfamiliar adults, so a quiet home with a patient and understanding adopter would be ideal for her. Midnight has never been around dogs or kids, and she prefers not to interact with other cats, as demonstrated by her disinterest in playing with a male kitten she previously lived with.

When it comes to sleeping arrangements, Midnight is versatile. She loves to sleep on furniture, anywhere warm and sunny, under furniture, and in bed with her person. These cozy spots are where she feels most secure and content.

One way to Midnight's heart is through treats - she absolutely loves them! Offering her treats can be a great way to build trust and strengthen your bond with her.

If you're looking for a unique and loving companion who enjoys a peaceful environment, Midnight could be the perfect addition to your home. Adopt Midnight today and give her the safe and cozy haven she deserves!

Midnight is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines. Her adoption fee has been waived until September 10.

We're open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for you to meet Midnight and all of our adoptable animals.

FOSTER FEATURE!

Meet Sparrow, she is a sweet little eight-year-old female who would love a quiet home to relax and take her naps in.

She has been through some hardships in her life and is ready for retirement. Naps are what she adores the most, but she is always up for a frolic through the fields or even a hike in the mountains!

She is house-trained, cat-friendly, and currently living with a dog-savvy kid. She loves to follow her people around and is building her confidence around new people.

Sparrow can't wait to find a patient, wonderful home to spend the rest of her life in.

Please email [email protected] to ask for a meet and greet!

Our kitten room is starting to fill up, so we need your help finding foster homes for these adorable fur babies until they are ready to be adopted.

- We have 2 kittens that came in together and will need a foster commitment of about 4 weeks. One is eating mush while the other is eating wet and dry food.

- There is a litter of 3 that is eating wet and dry food. They will need a foster commitment of 3 weeks.

- We also have a single mush baby that is ferociously eating their food. They love getting extra head scratches. She will need a foster home for about 5 weeks.

- There is another single mush baby that enjoys her meals. She likes to sit back and relax in between eating. She will need a foster home for about 5 weeks as well.

Remember! Foster families will need to bring the kittens in on occasion for health checkups. You don't have to be a Clay County resident to foster kittens.

Psst! Hey, students. You can get community service hours for your Bright Future's scholarship by fostering with CCAS.

Looking for a college football-watching buddy? Meet Gator! 🐊

Gator is a nine-year-old male looking for his forever family.

Here's some information about this sweet boy.

Personality:
Gator has the exact opposite personality of his name. He is a loving, laid-back, couch potato if we've ever met one! Gator loves to be near his people, and get lots of attention. The only thing Gator will chomp on is treats and an occasional toy.

Skills/ Training:
Gator walks fabulously on a leash, knows how to sit, and is very responsive to when you say "come" and call him! Gator also appears to be housetrained or has the skills to be!

Dog Compatibility:
Gator has been evaluated with more submissive and calm dogs and has done great. Gator is an older man who seems to be curious and enjoys the company of another dog and may even have some play spurts but mainly just wants companions to live the rest of his life with love.

Special Considerations:
While Gator is an older dog, he has a lot of love to give! Gator is the perfect option for a more slow-paced and laid-back person or family who will happily show you he's worth it! Gator deserves the chance to live the rest of his life in a family filled with affection, treats, and comfort.

He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his age-appropriate vaccines.

We're open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for you to meet Gator and all our adoptable pets. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/ClayAdoptions.

21/08/2024

Through no fault of her own, Lulu came to Clay County Animal Services and remains a loving and gentle soul eagerly waiting for a second chance to be part of a caring family.

This senior pup is a 12-year-old, medium-sized mix breed. Lulu may be a bit reserved initially, but once she warms up, her true affectionate nature shines through. According to her family, Lulu likes the company of other dogs but she has not found a friend here at the shelter.

Lulu considers herself an inside pup, reveling in the comforts of home. She's particularly fond of air conditioning, making her the perfect cuddle buddy for movie nights on the couch.

Lulu politely declines the company of cats or rabbits, so a cat and small animal-free household would be ideal. We are not sure if Lulu is okay with young children.

We recommend that you bring any other dogs or small children with you when meeting Lulu so that they can meet in a safe environment.

Lulu is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines. Her adoption fee is currently waived!

We're open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information about Lulu and all of our adoptable animals, visit https://www.claycountygov.com/community/animal-services/adoption.

Meet Squeakers! 🐶🥏

This adorable 2-year-old male is ready to steal your heart and your Instagram feed. He is part of our Clear The Shelter adoption special, so his adoption fee is waived!

Here's what we know about Squeakers:

Personality:
Squeakers is a reserved but engaging dog who talks to you through his very expressive eyes. He is quick to come out of his shell and start showing his sit-and-wait skills once you let him come to you and have some tasty treats on hand. He enjoys a good head pat and butt scratch.

Skills and training:
Squeakers appears to be housetrained or would be if walked regularly. Squeakers is still learning to walk on leash, squeakers know how to sit and wait for treats or affection.

Dog interaction:
Squeakers is curious and engaging with other dogs, and if given the chance will play in a nice calm manner, he does enjoy doing the zoomies with other dogs and playing jump and chase however also very much enjoys having a canine companion around to help him build his confidence in the world and coexist.

Special Considerations:
Squeakers is still learning how to properly walk places on the leash, sometimes he just decides he would rather not and lays down instead! He is scared of the unknown but is productively making progress. He would loooove it if there was a fenced yard he could be good in while he still learns his leash manners.

Squeakers is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.

We're open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday for you to meet Squeakers and all of our adoptable animals.
