Meet Steve, the delightful 8-year-old canine companion who's as endearing as they come! With his impeccable leash manners and responsiveness to treats, Steve has proven to be a great walker and a joy to call in the yard. He's not touch-sensitive and happily accepts affection from head to paw. His curiosity and engaging personality make every interaction a heartwarming experience. Steve knows how to sit and offer a paw, showcasing his intelligence and willingness to please. While he does get excited and pull towards other dogs on walks, his medium energy level ensures he's calm and collected the rest of the time. This incredibly affectionate and sweet boy is eagerly waiting for a loving home where he can share his endless love and charm.

❄️ DOG FOSTERS NEEDED AHEAD OF WINTER STORM! ❄️

To help keep shelter dogs safe during the upcoming winter storm, we are urging the community to consider fostering.
Here is what you need to know about being a winter storm foster with Clay County Animal Services:

❄️You do not have to be a Clay County resident to foster adult dogs. However, you do need to be a county resident to foster puppies.
❄️ Clay County Animal Services will provide food for the duration of the winter storm. A wire crate may be provided for adult dogs if needed, but supplies are limited.
❄️ Drop-off time will be scheduled with the shelter once the winter storm has passed.

We will be open today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, for anyone interested in fostering a pet temporarily.

During these freezing conditions, we ask residents not to bring animals into the shelter unless it is an absolute emergency.
