We are an all volunteer group of animal lovers that work non-stop to rescue unwanted and abandoned pets. We mostly take in strays or abandoned animals in and around the greater San Antonio area. All animals we take in live in foster homes or depending on the severity of their conditions at our partnered vet clinic. We provide all our dogs with any and all health care they may need, along with comf
ortable safe foster homes, and food needs. We survive solely on donations and the help of our volunteers. The more dogs we can take in means the less that will end up roaming the streets, with ACS, or being euthanized.
Have yall met Daisy Mae? Oh my goodness she is 10 lbs of sugar in a 5 lb sack. She loves her people and snuggles. She is very mindful. she is very demure. lol. If you haven’t met her you are absolutely missing out. She is potty trained and will wait patiently by the door for you to come home and greet you with kisses.
**** HELP!!! Her Foster fell through and we are desperately seeking a foster for this young Momma and her babies. She will be here on Friday.
All expenses and supplies provided we just don’t have a safe place for her to go right now.

Had an amazing Day showing off some of our awesome pups at today. Thanks to a great group of Volunteers that braved the heat and took our pups for a walkabout! A great time was had by all.
Our sweet Charlize is recovering from her surgery and happy to be home. When we rescued her she had been walking around with a severely broken front leg. We don’t know how she was injured but it was a horrible break. We put her through surgery to have a pin placed and weeks of healing. Once she recovered we soon realized that the injury was much worse than first suspected and she would never be able to properly use her leg again. She couldn’t straighten it out and it caused her pain when walking.
Once we had her examined fully to see if hydrotherapy would help her to regain function and were told that no matter the rehab there was just too much nerve damage for her to ever walk normally again. We made the difficult decision to opt for amputation.
Charlie is home and she’s resting but our hearts are broken that we had to put her through that.
Send Charlie some healing vibes if you can tonight.

It’s been a crazy Friday. We were contacted earlier today about a Dog that had been hanging around the neighborhood for about a week. No one knew him and he didn’t belong to anyone that was asked. So of course we had to go help him. Meet this gorgeous boy. We named him Roscoe.
The worst thing about puppies is when they starve they starve fast. The best thing about puppies is that with very little TLC they rebound quickly. Just two days ago Snoopy was near death. But 2 days of regular meals, some antibiotics and daily hydrotherapy sessions and his energy is returning.
Thank you so much to everyone that is helping him. He’s not out of the woods yet but he is starting to act more like a puppy. His wounds are still pretty severe and his infection and pressure sores are still there but they are mostly hidden by his coat. He’s loving all of the attention he’s getting and thriving with his foster family.
We will be at the Petsmart at EVANS and 281 from 12:00-4:00 (Saturday July 13th)

This poor sweet puppy. We have a little more of his story. He was almost missed by his rescuer. He had managed to come out from under the bush he had decided to die under. One last effort at survival. He had been attacked and was slowly starving to death. Luckily the man had seen the white ghost of a shape and stopped to investigate. Snoopy crawled back under the bush too scared to trust his luck. He gently picked him up and nestled him in the car and took him to safety.
He was bathed and his wounds were cleaned. The vet says Snoopy is merely 5 months old. He has been attacked, is starving and has pressure sores from laying in the same place for so long. We didn’t want to stress him out too much today so we just gave him some antibiotics and made a plan for recovery before he got to go back home where he feels safe. He has a very long road to recovery but will get all of the live and attention he will need to be the strong happy life he deserves.
If you can please help us help give him his happily ever after he would be forever grateful.

It’s $5 Friday! This weeks animal in desperate need is Snoopy.
This sweet Angel is really in need. Thank goodness our wonderful foster Maria has volunteered to foster but his vet bill is going to be stiff and we could really use some help with his bills.
He was found just laying on the side of the road. He is extremely underweight and has several bite wounds that will need antibiotics at the least and potentially sutures. We’ve bathed him and he has a vet appointment today . He’s able to stand easier thank goodness. We weren’t sure he was going to last the night.
If you are able we would really appreciate any help you can provide.

Sweet Hershey came to the rescue of this sweet 1 week old orphan . We think we’ll name him Rolo. He’s fitting right in with his new siblings.
Welcome to out Four new Littles and their Momma, Hershey. So cute. Hershey can from a hoarding case with her two sisters that were also pregnant. Hershey is the consummate momma and nursed her sister’s babies too. Between the three of them they had 9 babies. 5 passed away but these four chunkers have decided to stay with us. 2 are Hersheys babies and the other two are her sisters. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to rescue Hersheys sisters because we didn’t have a foster. It’s killing us to have left them behind.
Foster care needed for Ruffles and Pringle until they are ready for their forever homes.

It’s been a rough few weeks. We could really use your help. Charlize came into our care by accident but it’s good that she did. She was dumped off Wiseman BLVD and had been hit by a car. She needs surgery to break her broken Humorous. Last week one of our Alumnus, Shia Lawoof was returned with a broken Femur and needed surgery to repair it and on top of that we lost our four Pug Chis to a debilitating congenital disorder. All of this has really eaten into our cushion and we could really use some help.
Please Consider even giving $5 to help us cover the medical bills.

Please help us welcome little Rowan. She is an 8 week old Shihtzu/Bassett puppy that was born with something wrong with her back legs. We aren’t sure yet what’s going on because she can use them but she just can’t quite get them under her. We have an appointment scheduled for her to see Dr. McGehee but we could really use your help with her care. We don’t know what it’s going to cost but it will probably not be cheap. She is a sweet little nuggets that loves to give puppy kisses and let’s nothing hold her back.

Alumni Alert! Sadie came by for a visit yesterday. She’s grown into a beautiful girl!
They say bad things happen in threes and it’s been a banner week. First Puffy and today when we went to pick Puffy up for the happy reunion we didn’t know we would be saying Goodbye to one of our Sanctuary dogs. We knew Bear was on borrowed time when we took her in. She had Cancer . She was 15 and lived by her own rules so it should be no surprise that she decided when it was time to go. Yesterday she was her normal senile self, meandering around her environment and last night I found her in a pool of blood and unwilling to eat or drink. I knew then we were looking at the end. She got one last bath and pedicure and a new blanket in her favorite bed. I expected when I greeted her this am I would be finding her passed but she was still there. She still wouldn’t eat or drink and had very little energy and was telling me it was time for her to go be with her Mom across the Rainbow bridge. It was fitting that I was with her when she fell asleep for the final time . She was loved and she was happy until she was ready to go home. Her owner passed away about a year ago and I think she just missed her Momma too much.

Chester takes awhile to warm up but when he goes he is hilarious

We aren’t sure why Copper is licking the patio but the important thing is he is having a good time 😹
Sometimes you get out of one mess only to find yourself in another! Sweet boy Copper is fully vetted and ready for his forever home!
