Clipped the most adorable mini this morning- she was perfect and never moved a muscle!! Blueberry (BB) is looking sharp😎
Side note- I have met the most wonderful people in my travels clipping over the last 6/7 years and today was no different!
I just love it🥰

Clipping ALL the cushings babies lately
This big girl needed some sedation more than normal which caused her to start sweating (normal reaction to the drugs) but clipping a sweaty horse is near about impossible- so that’s why I need multiple machines (and blades) as well as fans blowing to get the job done!✅
Clipping isn’t just for the beautiful show horses, comfort clips are a thing and I think this girl feels soooo much better now😓😜

We were so busy clipping & chatting I forgot to get Bucks picture - it was my pleasure getting all that cushings fluff GONE!!

All of this!!! Do a great bath and my clip job will be great too!!! Please & Thank you 😘

This is a friendly reminder that I will not clip horses who have not been properly prepped. (Sorry if what I’m about to say sounds abrupt at all but, this has to be discussed.)

A clip can only look as nice as the horse is ✨clean✨.

🗣️This means:
🔹A proper bath, with shampoo, scrubbing down to their skin, within 24 hours prior to the appointment time & fully dried by the start of the appointment time.
🔹No riding between bath & clip.
🔹No turnout between bath & clip.
*If your horse does not have access to a stall & must be turned out, they need to at least be fully dried before going outside. Putting a fly sheet on would be a bonus but not required.

❌ If I am presented with a dirty, dusty, urine/manure stained horse, I will not clip the horse and will have to return when the horse can be thoroughly cleaned. Returning will be subject to my availability and could be a few weeks out.

💡I also know very well when a horse hasn’t been bathed. Previously, I have made exceptions and figured out how to work around it but moving forward— no bath, no clip.

“Why all these rules?”
“I’ve never had to bathe my horse before a clip.”
“He was hosed off this morning.”
“He had a bath yesterday but was ridden this morning.”

🚨Clipping a dirty horse WILL:
🔺Ruin my expensive equipment that I will have to replace, in order to stay in business.
🔺Take double the time to finish the clip.
🔺Not feel very nice on your horse (blades will tug on hair and skin.)
🔺Not look very nice.

🫧 Unlike the dog grooming world, I as the professional, rely on my clients to prep their own horse’s coats for me before their haircuts. (I’m sure dog groomers would NEVER). As much as I’d love to, it is just not realistic for me to bathe & prep every horse I see.

🙏🏻 So please, for the love of all things horses— if you run into a jam and couldn’t get your horse bathed prior to their clip appointment, please just let me know and I’ll be happy to reschedule. When I show up and run my hands over a horse and my hand turns black or pat them down and see dust flying up— no, they did not get a bath and therefore no, I cannot clip them.
