Calf Rescue and Adoption Discussion for rescuing young calves from cruel abusive treatment and painful slaughter. Help the calves rescued from horrific situations. Some are very sick.

Often even as newborns they are sent off to be slaughtered as infant calves. Then they need to be adopted. If you are someone with land that would like to take a calf or two please join us and adopt.

Baby G AKA Baby Grand Piano was deemed worthless at only minutes old by CA's factory farm dairy industry and was ripped away from her enslaved mother just moments after birth and sentenced to infant calf slaughter. Baby G was born a Freemartin heifer, which meant she could not reproduce someday and be used for milk production. However, today, as she stands in the meadow, and looks out onto a field full of other bovine friends, she knows, in her heart, that her life has real meaning.

If you want to rescue a calf there are plenty that need help. Most dairy farms will sell you a drop or free martin calf and they often, usually send them to slaughter when they are very young so this is a great opportunity to get them before they are exposed to disease. Another way to save a calf is to go to the closest livestock auction and buy them there. Now before you set off to rescue you should line up a veterinarian that will immediately visit your calf and check him/her out and find out how to prepare for the arrival of your new pet remembering that they will get big but right now they are newborn babies. Even though you just saved their life they will have special needs. An adult cow will need a companion so take that into consideration. They need formula and one type of formula may not be as acceptable as another. This is what you should discuss with the vet before you rescue so your calf has the best chance of survival and thriving. My Speckled Calf Rescue has experience doing this and might have some good ideas but you need a trusty vet and you can find one by asking the dairy farmer or even someone knowledgeable at the auction if you can't find a dairy farmer and a cattle farmer should know too. Thanks for saving a life.

We are a 501c3 nonprofit rescue, dedicated to saving dairy calves, cows, horses and other defenseless animals from slaughter. We rescue slaughter-bound baby dairy calves from 2 hours to one day old. We take them into a warm and safe environment, where they will receive 24-7 special care.

If you want to adopt a calf look at your local dairy farms, they always have free martins or other calves to get rid of that they sell cheap or look at local livestock auction.
