It’s so hard to believe she will be 14 weeks old tomorrow! Ugh I’m so in love! She has the best personality too! All s***k and a little bit of sweet. Literally the most confident border collie I have ever met!

Sumac finally got his Agility title in the mail! About time!!!!

Sumac will be available for stud this year once we obtain his official OFAs. I'm extremely impressed with this dog, as he embodies everything I wanted in a Border Collie. He has demonstrated his capabilities in various disciplines, showcasing the breed's versatility. This year, our primary objectives are to complete his dock diving title, initiate herding trials, and finalize his OFAs. I feel fortunate to own such a remarkable dog, and I'm eager to see his future accomplishments. He is already a proven stud as most of you may know. But that was a personal breeding we decided on before moving up to Alaska.

Stephanie made a super cute collage of our kiddos today and I couldn’t help myself to make one as well! I’m super proud of this pairing! I know it has only been 13 weeks since these kiddos have been on this earth but in those 13 weeks they have already shown what a great pair Sumac and Ripley made! Both girls are insanely smart and very biddable! I’m excited to watch them grow!

13 week Pupdate!

Snap is such a smart girl! She knows how to sit, down, stand, spin, and look at me already. On top of that she goes to the crate on command and we are working on her recall with distractions. She is sweet and spicy! I can already tell she is going to have a lot of drive and that’s exactly what I was hoping for! I see so much of her mom and dad in her❤️

Little Snapdragon had her 3rd vet appointment today! She got her Da2pp and a Bordetella vaccine today. She did so good for the vets. They got a kick out of her.

How is she 12 weeks old already! I didn’t get a chance to take nice pics but I took her out to Joann’s for the first time yesterday and then today we went to a couple local pet stores.

Snapdragon is 11 weeks old! I can’t believe it! She is growing like a w**d and is super smart! I look forward to raising this little spitfire!

What a whirlwind of a year it’s been for our pack! From incredible achievements to life-changing milestones, 2024 will be one to remember. Let’s dive into the highlights:

April:
We kicked off the year strong when Sumac, our not-so-little overachiever, earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Trick Dog Novice (TKN), and Trick Dog Intermediate (TKI) titles—all before his first birthday! Talk about a prodigy.

May:
Sumac made his dock diving debut, soaring an impressive 13’3” on his first go. Not to be outdone, Atlas also set a new personal best of 18’ the same day. Later that month, we got exciting news when Sumac’s preliminary OFA results came back GOOD—healthy hips and elbows for this future superstar!By the end of May, Sumac returned to the dock with a vengeance, crushing his PB with an incredible leap of 17’5”, while Atlas made jaws drop with a 20’ jump!

June & July:
June introduced the boys to something totally new: sheep herding! It turns out, they’ve got natural talent on the stock field. They followed up with a second lesson in July before we packed our bags and hit the road for a cross-country adventure.

August:
Sumac kept the momentum going by earning his Advanced CGC (CGCA) and Urban CGC (CGCU) titles. He also dipped his paws into Barnhunt, sparking yet another passion. To top it off, we gave Canicross a try—and fell in love with it!September:This month was jam-packed with firsts and achievements. Sumac earned his Farm Dog Certification (FDC) and wowed us in his FastCAT debut, clocking a blazing 27.67 mph and ranking #84 for fastest runs of the year! He capped it off with his BCAT title and his first agility title (ACT 1).

October:
Sumac showed off his sniffing skills in Barnhunt, achieving clean runs, first-place finishes, and his Novice (RATN) and Open (RATO) titles—all in one weekend. By the end, he was officially unstoppable.

November:
The biggest news of the year: Sumac became a dad! On November 2nd, Snap and her sister Shelby joined the world, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Meanwhile, Sumac continued his Barnhunt journey, making progress toward his Senior title, including earning his prestigious RATS title at month’s end.

December:
December brought milestones big and small. The pups had their first vet visit on the 16th, and by the 28th, baby Snap officially joined our pack! Watching her grow will be our favorite adventure yet.2024 was full of new experiences, personal bests, and unforgettable memories. Here’s to more leaps, sprints, sniffs, and wags in 2025!

Sumac successfully earned another Q in barnhunt! So now we only need one more before he gets his Senior title! It’s so hard to believe that we have come so far in just 3 weekends. This weekend we only did one day because we are traveling to Wv for the holidays. Sumac is a great hunter but we definitely have some work to do to teach him not to be so rough with the rats! But I am still insanely proud of this dog! At the end of the video he was having trouble with the tunnel because he knocked a bale down into it and has never had to deal with an obstruction in a tunnel.
