Hurray for adoptions! While we are always sad to see our catstranauts leave, it excites us to see them find new and wonderful forever homes! Super excited that Matty and Churro have found their new orbits! Sweet cats that can give their new people so much love!

Kitten puddle! It’s getting warmer out, but our kittens still love to cuddle! Mercury (Grey) Matty (Orange) and Major (Black) love to snuggle up and hang out on the couch waiting for someone to come sit and pet all of them!

As 2023 goes behind us and we look towards 2024, we just want to thank everyone who supports, donates, fosters, adopted, or even just acknowledges what we are doing with Rocket Cat Rescue this year.

-We took in 25 new cases in 2023
-We found wonderful homes for 15 cats in our care
-Sadly, we said goodbye to 7 cats whose medical issues just count not be overcome, but we provided them compassionate care and hospise until the very end.
-We saw a generous uptick in grant funding available for programs like ours
-We could not do this without the community support from all of you.

We are cautiously optimistic for 2024, working to finish up some medical work to get more cats out for adoption, with a goal of finding 15-20 cats forever homes in 2024 and being able to continue our core mission of supporting the special needs cats that need it most.

Are you seeing double? Bo (left) has been teaching Major (right) how to be a wonderful and dapper tuxedo cat. Bo likes to play with both Major and his sister Ursa a lot and show them how to be great cats. They say, “you don’t need eyes to get around!” All of them will be looking for forever homes in 2024.

So proud of Lyra, who got adopted today and delivered to her forever home! Lyra has been with us for 3 years, and is a total love bug, who we were just waiting foe the right adopter to come along for. We are so excited at the purrrfect match she found, and can’t wait to get updates!

Mercury (left) and Major (right) sure do love cat trees here at RCR. We think these wonderful (soon to be adoptable!) kittens also learned from the big cats that if they sit in the perches, we have to stop and pet them before we go by!

Matt Murdock is here to help get Thanksgiving dinner ready for all the Rocket Cats here on station. He’ll be getting posted soon as he’s almost ready to find his forever family, but in the meantime he wants to help thank all of RCR’s staff, volunteers, adopters, fosters, friends, donators, and more for all their help making this a successful year for the rescue. We can’t do this without the help of many, and so we thank everyone who has supported us this year!

Meet Charcoal! We are working to find her forever home. Could it be with you?

Meet Charcoal

Charcoal is with our friends Rocket Cat Rescue and is looking for a home!

Charcoal has a super power called cerebral hypoplasia that causes her to wobble from side to side and fall over often. Charcoal doesn’t love other cats, she often falls into a feline roommate and makes amazing Halloween cat noises. She loves people and is the sweetest when she falls at your feet and begs for cuddles.

She needs a patient family who is onboard for potty accidents and tripping hazards. We have been working to help find a litter pan that is easy for her to use-we have tried a few things-but this needs to be worked on in her forever home. If you’re interested in a beautiful, sweet, wobble kitty or know someone who is-please help us find her home.

Our founder has a huge soft spot for her and would be happy to help with her after adoption.

Apologies for the lack of updates lately. It has been a very hectic summer at RCR. We are pleased that Zephyr, Nod, and Cosmo all have been adopted in the last month, bringing us to 13 adoptions on the year. Please check us out on petfinder, as we would love to find homes for at least 5 more cats this year!

Chickenwing aka “mammas” our friendly feral cat went to her new working home lat week! She’s gonna be a mouser at a barn. A great job for a cat who isn’t too fond of people but who we couldn’t just TNR due to her damaged leg. We appreciate our friends at for@helping us dind the right home for her!

"My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today"

It is with painful, heavy hearts that we have to report on the passing of our phenomenal Ambassador Cat, Zoidberg.

Thank you to our friends at Super Fur-iends for a wonderful, touching obituary of our sweet, sweet boy.

"Dr. Zoidberg, or Zoidy as he was known to his friends, faced insurmountable challenges that he always took in stride.

There wasn’t a time that he wasn’t playing with his housemates, snuggling up to his people, or causing mischief like any other teenaged boy cat. He welcomed every pet with purrs and head rubs. He was a beacon of hope for other cats like him who face significant physical challenges. He didn’t mind that his “lobster claws” made it difficult to do cat things or that he was almost blind-everyday was a new and exciting challenge that rewarded him with endless amounts of admiration from everyone he met.

Zoidy owed his life to a pair of people who saw his physical needs as an opportunity to educate the community to open their hearts to pets like him. They encouraged his growth, addressed all of his needs, and helped him grow into a capable and effervescent cat. There was and never will be another being like him-and we are all incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to feel the rumble of his purrs and the kneading of his biscuits on our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations towards his end of life care services so that his family can continue their tremendous work."

We are so excited! Our fancy, glitter Bengal boy Luxor was adopted yesterday! He’s off to live the high life in LA and be spoiled and doted on! We are so proud of him, and so happy for him, his new mom, and his new cat brother!
