Adjusting to the loss on Oct 10 of our oldest dog Flicker, I am finding great solace in the trees. This maple danced for me yesterday. Enjoy the peace and beauty that is present here at the farm, even though there are also tears.
I will write more about this dog who has been my shadow for 14.5 years. But not yet.

Sometimes, remembering that above all, life goes on, and at any given moment, new lives are underway. Blanca, one of our Columbian hens, and her 4 chicks were a welcome respite from various struggles and fatigue.
Enjoy this simple pleasure of just watching others go about their lives. Not sure about you, but taking the time to spend with this wonderful little mother and her babies was restorative for me.
