By Acclamation out of a S**t Daddy mare. Sweet as candy, easy to handle, and has had plenty of time to decompress from the track. Raced once and showed no desire, retired sound with clean legs. Has high withers, so I feel she could work for polo too.

Unlike the last one we posted, this one is VERY sound, has more athleticism in one leg than most have in their entire body, and wants to have a job something fierce! 🔥

Meet “Taco” (Tequila Charley), a 2014, 16.1h Unraced OTTB Gelding by Awesome Again out of a City Zip mare. Don’t let his age detour you, he doesn’t look nor act it! This guy is built like a brick house, often gets mistaken for a QH, and has all the ability in the world but has been dealt some crappy hands, so he’s never had a chance to remain in training long enough to excel in a second career. He was briefly restarted off the track in 2019 and showed a lot of potential, but never had the consistency he desperately needs and then just became a companion to a pony and has literally been a backyard pet at the same farm in TN for 5 years…without a job.

I took him in just before coming to CA for the holidays, and am hoping someone out there wants an incredible winter project. Taco can go any direction. While I think he would excel as a Sporthorse or even make a cute little hunter, I could also see this guy absolutely tearing it up on a barrel pattern or even tracking cattle. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a horse that has this much athleticism, and all I really want is for him to put it to good use and be successful!

Taco is UTD on everything and while I do think he’ll be fine once he gets into a routine, he definitely requires an experienced rider- or at the very least one who is familiar with game horses!

We hope you enjoy your new life as much as we love having you!🎄🎁 This hunky gelding by Distorted Humor made a cool $191,370 and comes from a family of successful racehorses. His dam produced MGSW Kentucky Derby participant & millionaire Overanalyze, GSW Meadow Breeze who went on to produce several 6 figure foals, and broodmare Under Wraps who produced Japanese millionaire Jigen, just to name a few. We are so thankful to ‘Waffles’ connections & Peter Miller Racing Stable for always putting the horses well-being first and entrusting us with their next chapter. We can’t wait to see what this big guy accomplishes in his new career! These are the feel good stories that are the side of racing needing to be publicized more.🎅🏼❤️

⛈️ AVAILABLE TO GOOD HOME ⛈️ *I know how much people love to not read fully, so I’m putting this first with hopes people actually do for once 😂

“Stormy” is a 2020 16.3h OTTB Gelding by Midnight Storm out of a Harlan’s Holiday mare. He’s a big lovable guy that wants to be your best friend, doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and is all heart. He’s been with me since October, has been the absolute best boy, and even lets Ginobili pick on him 🙃 He loves his turnout time, stands great in the crossties, and doesn’t require a chain to lead. I’ve taken him for walks around the neighborhood and he really seems to enjoy seeing the trails, is very level headed and doesn’t lose pieces of his brain when dogs charge fences, vehicles zoom by, trash trucks etc.

Now for the downside…Stormy sustained a displaced condylar fracture in his last race, had surgery, time and all that glitter but unfortunately will never be riding sound beyond a walk, and in good conscience I just cannot place him as such mainly because people love to not listen, push the envelope, and I don’t want him paying the price. What he absolutely CAN do is make a kick ass therapy horse, whether it be a program for children, adults, or Veterans, because he truly has the best brain and LOVES people. He would also make the most amazing Companion for another horse or even just solo if you want a 1200 # dog.

Christmas came early for Stormy Liberals 18 yro sister, "SCHOLASTIC", who was standing at a low end auction in the heart of Amish Country, Ohio. Thank you will never be enough to her breeder, who graciously stepped up with MINUTES of us posting her and said to get safe no matter what, & for being her angel that night. The racing industry catches a lot of heat for some bad apples and the public chooses to emphasize on that, but in times like these, it's truly important that we focus on how incredible the majority of the industry is. Welcome to the retirement crew sweet mama! 🎄❤️🎁🎅🏼

Super pretty flashy girl with old pedigree lines you don’t typically see this close up anymore; Afleet Alex, Mr Greely, Seattle Slew only 2-3 generations back. Only broke her maiden in 5 starts and can’t win against winners leads to her sale. Big mover, sweet as pie, has been out with other horses. Has an old scar on left front, seen in photos, good feet, no vices. Swelling on back leg was from a kick and no longer there.

Anyone who knows how PER operates, knows we always take our former horses back if space allows. Part of why we opened in TN was to facilitate this easier as space in CA can be so limited. Saturday, we welcomed back “President Pierce” aka Pierre, a gorgeous gelding we placed in 2021. He developed kissing spine and due to space constraints his owner could no longer keep a horse they couldn’t ride. We are so grateful to them for reaching out, and look forward to integrating Pierre into our pasture with other like-minded horses to live out his days! 🐴🤎🏇🏼
