Today is special for several reasons. 
On this date, August 3rd, 2016, we opened our Etsy shop, (formerly known as Cooper & Slinky's). I remember this date well, as it was my youngest child, Cooper's 10th birthday.  For 8 years we've stayed loyal to Etsy but y'all...that struggle has become oh so real! A real struggle to stand out any longer amongst a sea of creators. I was so thankful for my little business.  Just one year in, I was able to quit my full-time job as a wedding  director/venue manager and focus on what started out as a fun hobby for myself and my young homeschooler. It also has allowed me to be a caregiver to my elderly mother the last 4 years but as time as marched on, it seems we are no longer a good fit. The brutal honesty is that our sales have been on a steady decline now for 4 years so Etsy, we are breaking up. It's me...I'm the the problem it's me. I no longer want to "rent" my space in the handmade world. I want to stand out instead of fighting to keep my head above water, only to give up so much of my little profit to big business and to be forced to do things THEIR way. So we are moving on and happy to say we now OWN our space with a website! pleasantpawsnc.com
