When we lost our daughters beloved Ginger after only 8 months I couldn't understand why. Like most hamster owners, I believed the information given to me by the big box pet stores. I now know there is so much misinformation about what appropriate hamster care looks like. Since losing our kind, loving, funny boy I have made it my mission to not only share the appropriate standards of care, but also

to create safe and quality made products for all friends small and furry. I have, and will continue to research the safest materials to build our products lovingly by hand in my home based shop.

Puddin' is a bit of a ghost hamster and rarely graces us with her presence, but when she does come out to say hi she's always so wonderful to interact with. She accepts treats and pets and is so gentle and kind, not to mention beautiful. She is worth the wait 💚

Bedding info snippet 🐹💚

AVOID: pine, cedar, sawdust, unspecified wood shavings, scented, fluffy bedding (like cotton wool and bamboo fluff) **if the materials aren't clearly stated on the packaging don't use it!

Nuts are meant to be an occasional treat. I usually give my Hams a nut in the shell to break into once every few weeks. For hard to open nuts, like walnuts, I will lightly crack the shell before burying it in their cocofiber for them to find

Puddin' is our newest Hamster. Her vibe is very "fuzzy sock in a glass box". She spends most of her time in her burrow sleepily snacking, then she throws a curveball by chewing out of her enclosure in one night. I found her the next morning sleeping in my shoe. Time for an upgrade!

Say Hello to Ginger 2.0. She is a sweet girl who has a strong preference for our 5 year old and no one else. She comes out of her burrow most mornings before our day begins to have some time with her favorite girl in our hamster playpen.

Welcome to Hide and Cheek! We are so happy to have you!

We are busy getting our products perfected for launch and will hopefully have our online shop up and running in the next few weeks. Until then my goal is to post some adorable and educational hamster content. 🐹 Our products are crafted with Syrians in mind, but would be suitable for most small rodents (Syrian and smaller) we will potentially branch out to have species specific items in the future!

Some backstory:
Creating safe, quality, hand crafted products for our small and furry family members has quickly morphed into an obsession for our entire family. After losing our daughter's hamster suddenly and unexpectedly, I dove into the rabbit hole (hamster burrow?) of proper hamster care. The more I learned, the more I was shocked by rampant misinformation readily available to first time (and long time!) owners. Often being treated as a child's toy rather than living, breathing, sentient creatures deserving of proper environment and enrichment. Our goal here is to help learn and grow together as a community to provide our pets with the best possible care.
