🐶📚 Are you struggling to train your furry best friend? 🐾 Let's talk dog training! 🐕‍🦺 As a professional dog trainer, I understand the challenges that come along with teaching our four-legged companions proper behavior. Training is not only essential for their well-being, but it also strengthens the bond we share with them. 🤝

From teaching basic commands like sit, stay, and come, to more advanced off leash, training is a continuous process that requires patience, consistency and the right tools. 🎯 Through our training techniques, we can effectively communicate with our dogs and guide them towards desired behaviors. 🏆

Join me on this training journey as we explore various training methods, share success stories, and provide tips and tricks to make your training sessions more enjoyable and effective. Together, we can enhance the quality of life for our canine companions. 🌟

Remember, training is an investment that pays off in wagging tails, well-behaved pups, and a harmonious relationship. Let's unlock the potential within our furry friends and make every tail wag with joy! 🐾❤️

🐾Free tip Friday

Socializing your dog around distractions is an important part of our training programs and dog’s overall development. It helps them become comfortable and well-behaved in various environments and situations. Here are some tips to socialize your dog around distractions:

1. Start with basic obedience training: Before introducing distractions, make sure your dog has a solid foundation in basic obedience commands like sit, stay, come, and leave it. This will give you better control over their behavior in distracting situations.

2. Gradual exposure: Start by exposing your dog to mild distractions and gradually increase the level of difficulty. For example, begin with quiet environments and gradually introduce more noise, people, other animals, and unfamiliar

3. Desensitization: Gradually desensitize your dog to distractions by exposing them to the stimulus at a distance and rewarding them for calm behavior. Slowly decrease the distance over time until your dog can remain calm and focused even in close proximity to the distraction.

4. Consider enrolling your dog in one of our training classes. Your dog may really benefit from e-collar training. I don’t recommend using one without professional help so please check out our website at Robsdogs.com

5. Consistency and repetition: Socializing your dog around distractions should be an ongoing process. Regularly expose them to various distractions to reinforce positive behavior and prevent regression.

Remember, every dog is different, and it’s important to go at your dog’s pace. Be patient, remain calm, and reinforce positive behavior to help them become a well-socialized and confident canine companion.

Henry had his last session today with his owners Nicole and Alex! He came a long way in just a short few weeks building his confidence and at the same time teaching him the commands needed to behave in public. Great job👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It’s never easy getting good pics of dogs. But every once in awhile the stars align and a dog will look right at the camera and not move for just long enough! Here are just a few of the amazing pups we work with weekly during our board and train and private lessons. I will try and post more often the next few weeks:)

The weather is getting hot! When we train dogs in the summer we start at 5am for our outdoor training. Then during the hotter hrs of the day we train at the mall nearby, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. That way your dog gets used to distractions as much as possible. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Every dog deserves to be by his family’s side. Family photos are way easier when your dog will sit and stay. Not to mention nice when on family outings. Our dog Iwan here is 130 lbs. If he was misbehaved it would make for a very unpleasant experience. But we’ve trained him to follow simple commands such as sit, stay, lie down, and come. If your dog actually does these commands when told it solves a lot of unwanted behavior. A lot of training methods are great at teaching dogs the commands, but aren’t so great at getting them to actually do the commands around distractions or when the dog doesn’t want to. With our methods, consistency, and a bit of work your dog can be a dog you can bring anywhere! Please check out our site to get started. We look forward to hear from you!
