Tetris had his first post track ride. He was a hauling buddy for one I was delivering to a friend in Des Moines, 3.5 hours away. He was so quiet and relaxed when we got there, I thought what the heck… I’ll hop on. He was so good. A few baby spooks at the door where you could see people but otherwise so brave. He walk, trotted and canter in an indoor arena full of jumps and mirrors. No easy task for any freshly retired racehorse, let alone a brand new three year old. Didn’t think I could love this one more, but here he is… proving me wrong.

Absolutely obsessed with our freshly minted 3 year old, Tetris. Standing at 17.2, he is by far the tallest baby we’ve ever gotten in. Despite his large stature, he is a lightly and lovely mover. As sensible as they come, this guy is going to be a dream for his future owner (maybe me) 🤣

I have an incredibly special horse I would love to find a home for Christmas for. He is a gigantic gentle giant. An oversized golden retriever that comes to his name always. He hasn’t had the best of luck suffering from a nasty ulcer leaving the track that we thought we had cleared twice. It came back with vengeance and we opted to remove his eye to insure he would be cleared of any future pain or issue.

Does make this make him harder to place? For sure. I don’t think it should though. My heart horse suffered a trailer accident at the same exact age and lost the vision in his left eye. He has successfully run to the intermediate level of eventing and is the bravest, kindest horse I’ve ever sat on.

Anyway, meet Osage. He’s an approximately 17.1 (maybe bigger) 4 year old gelding. He is kind as the day is long to handle, shoe, vet and ride. He wants to be your best friend. He’s lived with us for several months and is truly a barn favorite around here. He is gentle in turnout with all kinds of personalities. Currently turned out with my personal horse Zodi, that’s how much I trust him. He’s a huge mover with 3 lovely gaits. Very smart under saddle and learns quickly. Has adapted to being one eyed long before we took his eye. We had tried a matrix disc treatment that involved it being sewn shut 2 different times for 2 weeks each time. He is still the same sweet and trusting boy. He does have a cold, set splint on his right front, but otherwise excellent. I will be very negotiable to get him in the right home and I truly believe this is still a top prospect for someone. Originally priced in the very low 5s, he can now be under the right person’s Christmas tree for less than half. The key in that is the RIGHT person, not just the person with the cash. Please do not be offended if after we chat, I feel he isn’t quite the right choice for you. I will be extra overprotective of this horse and it will likely come off invasive 🤣.

Marshall also had his first ride. The mounting block was foreign and scary for him but once we got over that little hump and got to the riding he was a doll! What a chunky man. This one can go in any direction. Everyone’s wish list all decked out in chrome.

I present you Casino. I have been DYING to ride this horse since he arrive. Finally dried up arena. Holy sh*t batman was he worth the wait. Absolutely incredible. Not a tall horse but a BIG horse feel. Brave, soft, incredibly fancy. I could not stop say “Oh. My. Gawd” to Mercy while I was riding. This is my kinda guy. Loves the calf on too. He’s perfect. Enjoy his entire ride because I couldn’t choose. Did I mention the wind is ripping and it’s in the 30 degrees out with real feel of 20?! GAH

You want to know how you are on the most incredible 4 year old on their first ride? Well, you realize that there is a bug biting toy inside your riding glove. I’ve always fear spiders in there. Thinking I’m losing it I take my glove off. I’ve been on his back for roughly 30 seconds at this point and have not even completely a 30 meter circle.

IT WAS A SPIDER!!!! Insert squeal.

Wizard, zero reaction to my micro heart attack freak out. 10/10 recommend Wizard 🤣

Wizard ride 1. This dude was SO FUN. I almost cancelled the ride due wind so bad it had my metal patio furniture everywhere. He was pretty excited in his jog video just before, but figured well we will see how well he handles situation when less than ideal. He was fantastic. We only did a quick 15 min ride but he just kept getting better and better. This one is a sponge.

Not a single spook or blip. He was relaxed through his back and man is he a nice mover. The kind of canter to could choose to do 4 strides in a line or 7 strides in exact same line. Very mature for only being 3 years old. I was so impressed by him. Thanks Mercy for coming to video!

Decided to add this absolutely gorgeous creature to our RFS sales string. He’s been utterly perfect so far which includes very quietly taking in the Kentucky Horse Park which is no small feat. Can’t wait to learn more about him back in Nebraska. He screams Eventer.
