Hello everyone,

LUCKIE here!

Looking for the pawfect dog? We have one! Her name is NALA. She is an approximately 4.5-year old YorkiePoo girl. According to her foster mom, NALA is darn near perfect! She weighs approximately 5-6lbs.

Very sweet, good with other dogs. Excellent on potty manners, leach trained, cute.

She was a stray and ended up dehydrated and severely matted on someone’s front porch. I guess she knew she would get help there.

She is spayed, current on shots, HW negative, microchipped and had her teeth cleaned.

Mornin’! LUCKIE here!

I wanted to brag about myself. Can I? Mom said I have been here 10 1/2 months now. Time flies! 🦗

I started to have my skin issues treated then. I suffered (woe is me! 😩) with baths every second day what seemed like FOREVER! I had to take yucky medicine for just as long as FOREVER 🥵. I developed chronic colitis along the way; got new food, tylosin 3 times a day, meds stuffed down my ears because of a rare bacteria that’s hard to get rid of AND medication for the 5/6 heart murmur.

10 1/2 months later, I am totally off tylosin and my poops are normal. My ears are clear of the bacteria but the kicker is MY COAT! 😎

I am not cold anymore! Mom can’t believe it! I was supposed to be a lost cause!😱

Patience makes it happen.

Hi everybody, LUCKIE here!

Gotta tell you… my heart is fluttering… I met the cutest, sweetest tiny Yorkie girl this morning and I am smitten 😍.

She came in this morning and she weighs 3.5 pounds. She’s about 1 year old. OMD, what an adorable little thang! She’s 1 and I’m 12… she weighs 3 1/2 pounds and I weigh 17. Age difference is not an issue to me but mom said she’s too young for me… That’s unfair! 😤. What does she know? 🫤. I think mom is jealous; she wants me all to herself! What about age difference here? Mom is almost 69 and I’m 64 in human years… so I’m 5 years younger… I guess it’s not that much… 🙄. Ok mom, I’m your boy.

Anyhoo, KEEVA is available for adoption and I’m sure she will be popular. I don’t have more info right now as she just came in. She will go to the vet and have her teeth cleaned and have shots.

Good morning! LUCKIE here!

I wanted to tell you that lately, nights have been very hard. I think there is something wrong with mom. She works a lot during the day and you would think that she would sleep soundly at night. But noooo!

We go to bed and she turns on the ceiling fan. So, I bury under my fuzzy blanket. Then, she turns it off. I get hot under the blanket so I get on top of it. Well, 5 minutes later, she throws the covers and turns the fan on. I get cold, so I bury under my blanket again! After 10 minutes, she’s cold so she turns it off and I get out from under the blanket! 😡😤

I don’t know what the problem is but it’s annoying! I hide under my blanket and mom turns on the fan, my sister Mercedes gets off the bed and goes to hide under the wing chair. It’s ridiculous! She finally falls asleep and we can all get some rest. Mercedes and Magnum are exhausted! So am I!

LAKELYNN the beautiful Bichon Frisé was groomed by my husis and all prettied up. Her new pawrents think she is gorgeous 🥰.

Hey y’all, LUCKIE here!

We have 2 new boys in the rescue tonight. One is JACK JACK and the other is CHAD. I want to bark a lot of things but I don’t know how to start barking. 🤔

Let me start with CHAD… he seems to be a lean Rat Terrier/Toy Fox Terrier. Very sweet, scared and shy right now. He has a few shot injuries… shots like « bang! » 💥 not shots like vaccines! 😱
He seems to be young. He was a stray on the highway.

JACK JACK… he is about 7 years old. He is now neutered. His mouth stinks, he is positive for heartworm disease and got caught in a trap. So… he chewed his leg off to free himself! The rest of his leg was amputated last week. Not only did he get caught in one of those nasty traps but he also heartworm positive! 🦟🤬

For the love of bones! How unlucky can a dog be? JACK JACK is sweet and, just like I did, he needs care.

I just woke up from a nap and mom reminded me about something I was supposed to tell you. That something is that I wanted to meet COPPER, a young Schnauzer/Yorkie mix boy… a Schnorkie!

COPPER is 1 year old and he loves to play! Mom told me he is not a fan of the veterinarian. I can’t blame him on that. I’m not a fan either! 😳Apparently, he’s not crazy about groomers. My human sister is a groomer. Am I crazy about that? Nope! I’m crazy about my husis but not when she starts messing with my face, and especially not my butt and my tail. They’re mine! Leave them alone! 😤

We Schnauzers are a bit stubborn (don’t tell mom I said that. I will plead the 5th!) Sooooo, COPPER is that, but he’s a terror…rier!

BTW, I repeated what mom says about pleading the 5th… the 5th what? 🤔Does it mean I am the 5th to plead? Oh whatever! 🤯

COPPER is neutered, current on shots, HW negative and microchipped. He is a typical terrier with a big Schnauzer personality! I can attest that we are loyal, loving, lovable, smart, handsome, protective, entertaining, determined, opinionated, intelligent, and did I mention « handsome »? 😎

Good morning, LUCKIE here!

Well, for the love of bones! Mom just told me MARLEY is also heartworm positive, just like MUNSTER! She will be treated of course. They both were running around in Lufkin, TX, and that’s SE of here. 😡

Why peeps? It is so easy to protect us from these pesky mosquitoes who love to sting us and drop heartworm eggs in our body. If they are not treated, MARLEY and MUNSTER will die because the heartworms will take over their heart and lungs. Can you imagine how painful it is to die that way? 😱

It’s the first of the month: Great day to give heartworm preventative for the month. 💥 🦟 💥

Think about it: if you can afford to buy bags of treats, you can buy a treat that will protect us from heartworm disease! Makes sense, right? 🤔

Mom just reminded me to tell you that your veterinarian can give us a shot that will protect us for 6 or 12 months, whichever he recommends. We could be protected for a year and you wouldn’t even have to set a monthly reminder! Great, right? 😃

Mom gets so upset when someone tells her that their dog is not protected because they only go outside to potty… it takes a nanosecond (that’s really fast, folks!) to sting us and give us heartworm disease. I hate it when mom is upset… she’s not fun ☹️

Mom talked about Brisket, Agatha, Edwina, Puff Puff and Munster.

I.will.talk.about.LAKELYNN…AGAIN!

I don’t understand and I don’t know how loud to bark anymore to make humans know she is a FANTASTIC Bichon Frise girl! 😍 I am BUFFALOED! 🤯 She should be in her forever home already! She has been in a foster home since March. Why? There is nothing wrong with her!

She is simply PAWFECT! Potty trained, leash trained, good with other dogs, also good as an only dog, healthy, heartworm negative, spayed and her cataract surgery went great and will not cause more vision issues.

She likes to sleep in bed with her foster mom too. AND she is so pretty and happy.

PLEEEAAAASE SHARE and help me find a forever home for this pretty girl!

NEW ARRIVALS & Updates:

BRISKET is very old, pretty much blind. He is chilling in his foster home. He was shaved under sedation. His bloodwork is normal and heartworm negative.

AGATHA is older than we thought and she has been adopted by a fantastic couple who took over all her veterinary needs. They absolutely wanted to give her a great home during the time she has left.

MUNSTER is unfortunately heartworm positive and has dry eye syndrome in the right eye. Drops will take care of that. He will be treated for heartworms.

MARLEY aka MARLIS will see the vet this coming week and we will know more.

NEW PUPS ON THE BLOCK:

PUFF PUFF aka Bridget, 5-year old Poodle girl, very sweet and pretty

EDWINA aka GINGER, 2 years old, Yorkshire terrier. She is happy and playful.

That’s all I know on the new ones for now. They both weigh 8 pounds.

Hey everybody,

LUCKIE here! BRISKET has arrived. The poor guy is pretty much the way I was a year ago. His eyes were almost completely shut with dried gunk. Mom put him in the tub, gave him a bath with MY special shampoo, a second bath… and a 3rd bath! The dirt kept on coming off his thin body. She cut several big mats but he will be lightly sedated at the vet to shave the rest as mom said, it would be dangerous to try to cut them without hurting him.

Then she tried to clean the gunk off his eyes and he strongly protested! She told him she understood his frustration but it had to be done. She grabbed his beard and used the eyebrow comb to get all the crud out. OMD! We heard him through the whooooole house! 🤯. I thought: “Dude, you don’t know mom. It will get done, believe me! Might as well cooperate, it will get done faster!”

Once he was clean, she wrapped him in a warm towel and sat down with him. He was grumbling, not upset, just chatting with mom. She was tapping his butt like a baby and the grumble became a snore. 💤

Mom thinks he is an older dog abandoned because of his skin issues and his dry eyes. Once she cleaned them up, she said the white of his eyes are beet red. Poor guy…

BRISKET is at the clinic tonight. He is getting shaved under sedation, bloodwork and whatever he needs to treat his skin; he needs it! Hang in there buddy, it will get better. I can vouch for that!

PLEASE watch this. Boudin still friendly, sweet, trying to get noticed. Only his foster mom did. This is the fate of a short coat male dog. He is a delight! I got to hold him and talk to him yesterday. I made a promise to him that I will find him a home. He does not shed a lot and vaccuming is not the end of the world. It’s not his fault that he came to this world a short coat male. He didn’t ask not to be a cute fluffy female dog. He is great with other dogs, loves everybody, not good with cats. His potty manners are great, leash trained, fully vetted. It breaks my heart… Still trying to find a home

LUCKIE’s UPDATE: We went to the vet on Friday to recheck his thyroid, skin, heart and ears. He got another Convenia shot, Cytopoint, bloodwork, ear cytology, heart check. His heart is stable. The ear cytology shows a bacterial infection (pseudomonas). His bloodwork is now normal.

LUCKIE is not happy about the bath and soak this morning. He scratches himself bloody. He gets it every other day and I might have do it daily until we figure out what is going on with him. He is getting the thyroid test tomorrow morning and I will post results as soon as they come in. Several dogs found a forever home on Saturday. Ten got adopted! CORONA, BUTTERCUP and CREOLE were not the lucky ones. CORONA would be great as an only boy, potty and leash trained, 3-4 years old CREOLE is very active and playful, so is BUTTERCUP. They are both about 1 year old. They don’t have to be adopted together. If they would be, their day would be spent entertaining you with their antics!

AVAILABLE AGAIN: CHUNK and DATA don’t have to be adopted together. They are neutered, current on shots and microchipped WHAT THEY NEED: -another young dog to play with -a home without young kids -an owner either working from home or mostly at home. What they DON’T need: -being more crated than not (sleep in a crate and be crated because the owner works outside the home) -to be an only dog and no other young dog to play with -young kids, toddlers -elderly owners. Why? These babies are trip hazards! The chances of outliving the owners are high and they will end up without a home as seniors themselves.

IMPORTANT: many comments ask for ages and breeds. Please read the following list, it’s all there. puppies and very active young ones will need to a home with another young dog to play with and no children under 12 years old.
