We need our senior dog lovers to the front!🗣️

This is 10 year old, Ella (FKA Rutilla), a senior pup who was adopted two years ago from MCACC (after spending months there) and was bounced around from place to place. The adopter attempted to rehome her multiple times due to owners inconsistent lifestyle, and finally, a couple weeks ago, surrendered ownership to a dedicated volunteer who loves and cares about her. This amazing volunteer wants to help foster Ella, but she needs our help.

At adoption, Four Paws and Friends assisted the owner a bit because Ella had diagnosed thyroid issues and skin allergies. This is a monthly expense so we wanted to make sure she was treated to start the adoption off.

Cut to now, she was surrendered in bad shape. She has bacterial and fungal infections in her paws, severe allergies, hypothyroidism, arthritis, and multiple masses that need to be evaluated and possibly removed surgically.

The amazing Four Paws has offered to help Ella as she is now in a good situation to get the care she needs. Ella has had a rough go at life at no fault of her own. She deserves the care she needs.

🐾Ella is dog, cat, people, and kid friendly. The foster loves her and is willing to care for her until we can find her a forever home.

🎄12 Dogs of Christmas #12 - VELVET🎄

Velvet’s story stays with you.

When she arrived, neglect had taken its toll on her body, but her sweet spirit shines deep. She was losing fur, showing a life without basic nutrition. In just the last month, she’s already made a huge transformation. Healthy fur returning. Trust and confidence are growing. Hope peeking deep in her eyes. We took Velvet out, and while the world is still a little big at times, her sweetness shines through in the gentlest ways. She greets people calmly, solicits gentle pets, and watches you walk away with eyes that seem to ask, “Wait… why are you leaving?”

🎄12 Dogs of Christmas #11 — BILLIE🎄

She stands at the front of her kennel, eyes locked on the long hallway… still waiting. Waiting for the people who promised her a home—and left her behind.

Billie doesn’t know what she did wrong. Because she didn’t do anything wrong, her intake notes even say “THIS DOG IS AMAZING AND IS A CUDDLER, LOVES CAR RIDES”

One day, she had a couch, familiar voices, and a life that made sense. Next, she is in a cold shelter, alone.

We took Billie out for just one day. And she loved us with her whole heart.

She jumped into the car like she’d been waiting for that moment. She walked through the park as if the world had opened back up for her. Her face when she tasted a Pup Cup—pure joy.

Billie ran. She played. She rolled in the grass. She grabbed toys like they were treasures. For a few hours, she wasn’t a shelter dog—she was just happy.

Maybe being left behind means she’ll find a home that doesn’t just feed her—but truly sees her. Because more than food or treats, Billie wants companionship. She wants to belong. She wants to give you her whole heart and never take it back.

Odie is a laid-back Redbone Coonhound with the softest soul—and a story that deserves a better ending. We spent the day with him doing what c**n dogs do best—having a c**n dog kind of day.

✨ Adventures with Odie:

• Walks great on a leash
• Jumps right into the car
• Calm, easygoing, and happy to just go along for the journey
• Sat politely at a restaurant (dog-friendly chicken breast = 10/10 ⭐️)
• Unfazed strolling through the shopping center
• Absolute gentleman on a coffee date—pup cup approved ☕️🐾

He does great with other dogs, but with his c**nhound instincts, cats are a no-go, and he’d do best with older kids who can respect his boundaries.
Odie is a 4-year-old, 60-lb love, and more than ready to finally go home.

🤍 Meet Taz – he arrived at MCACC back on July 6th, which means he’s sadly passed the 60-day mark. Taz hasn’t been given a deadline yet, but county has had to start giving deadlines for length of stay. 💔

When I first met him, he was tucked away in the K wing—a quiet, forgotten spot where hardly anyone looks. I took him on a Tails Around Town adventure, and his whole world lit up. He hopped into the car like he’d been waiting forever for that chance, and sat gazing out the window with the sweetest expression—just soaking up freedom. 🐾

This little 40lb cutie walks beautifully on leash, no pulling, just happy to be by your side. We even stopped for a much-needed bath. His coffee-colored rinse water told the story of shelter life, and underneath it all was a soft, snowy coat just waiting to shine again. ✨

Taz isn’t about treats or toys—what he wants most is time with you. He loves sitting close, strolling calmly through the park, and watching the world go by with his person. And when it was time to go back to his kennel? That one broke me. Most dogs walk back willingly. Taz hesitated, wanting to stay. 💔

He may have a mini husky look, but not the husky-level chaos—just a gentle, loyal soul longing for home.

Taz will leave the shelter neutered, microchipped, and ready to be your best friend (likely with a little goodie bag too 😉). What he needs most isn’t stuff—it’s someone to love him forever.

This girl is PURE JOY!

She LOVES other (big and small) dogs.
She LOVES cuddles.
She just LOVES being a dog!
She is potty trained!

She THRIVES in an environment where she has the freedom to run and just enjoy her existence. (She isn’t a fan of confinement or small spaces.. So a yard is a must!!)

She will make you laugh with her sweet Husky “woo woo’s” in protest to not getting your undivided attention. 😍😍🥰

She will do everything in her power to brighten your day!

She is the JACKPOT of all jackpots!!

Alix is was elisted at MCACC West last year due to her needing FHO surgery. HARTT took her in and has taken care of all her medical needs.
