Some of last years hatchlings of dione fresh out of hibernation

I'm very exited to have had these just recently hatch, Archelaphe bella chapaensis (Chapa Rat Snake) and Vladivostok Elaphe dione (Steppe Rat Snake). The parents weren't bred until later in the spring hence the recent hatching date.

Here is a first for me. These are pictures of what appears to be a good clutch of eggs and of their proud and cantankerous mama. She is a Kukri snake and still has a bit of an attitude.

After several years of working on this Elaphe Dione project it was nice to see how these hatchlings look. There were five total in the clutch, three albinos and two het for albino. These pictures are of two of the red albino Elaphe Dione and one of the het. for albino. They hatched on 06/15/22.

This discovery just made my morning a little more exciting. The first Rhino Rat Snake ( Gonyosoma boulengeri ) just arrived after 70 days @ an average temperature of 77F.
