Hitchcock Animal Hospital will be closed Saturday, August 31st through Monday, September 2nd, and we will resume normal business hours Tuesday, September 3rd. As we celebrate our nation's independence, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our clients and their furry family members, and we also want to share a few tips to keep your pets safe during the festivities:
1. Keep them indoors: Fireworks can be scary for pets. Create a safe, quiet space for them.
2. Update IDs: Ensure your pet's ID tags and microchips have current information.
3. Watch the food: BBQs and parties mean lots of yummy (but not always pet-friendly) treats. Keep an eye on what's within reach!

Sweet Murphee came in for an initial puppy exam, and we were all so excited to see this cute little girl, all the techs just had to get a picture with her! She did a great job posing for the camera, and she did an even better job being the perfect patient for her exam. We can’t wait to see her back for the rest of her vaccine series! ❤️🐶
We were so happy to meet miss Rosie this week when she came in with her mom, our own veterinary technician Grace! She was an amazing patient, and we’re going to miss her when she returns with her mom to Mississippi State as Grace starts her second year of their veterinary program in a few weeks.
Best of luck to Grace as she prepares for another school year, but at least she’ll have sweet Rosie to keep her company!
Rilo came in for his initial puppy exam, and we were all head over heels for this little guy! This handsome boy was a great patient, and we can’t wait to watch him grow over the next few months as he comes in for his puppy series! 🐶❤️

There was an incident in our parking lot this afternoon. We want to report that all of the staff is safe and ok. There are no further details at this time. City of Aiken and Aiken County Sherrifs are working hard on the issue. We want to thank everyone who checked on us and know we greatly appreciate your concern.
