We are excited to announce that Kate Holmes has stepped into the role of Board President of the Companion Animal Clinic Foundation, succeeding the outstanding leadership of Bobbie Mudge. Kate’s journey with CACF began in 2018 when she first joined the Board. After serving as the lead grant writer, she was invited to take on this new leadership role in January 2025. A retired advertising professional with a 40-year career that spanned New York City, Minneapolis, and Winston-Salem, Kate brings a wealth of strategic planning, business writing, and creative expertise to the board. She has worked with top-tier brands such as Porsche, Timex, IBM, and Hanes, honing skills in team building and problem-solving that she now applies to her philanthropic efforts. There is a pet overpopulation crisis in North Carolina. In fact, shelters and animal control in our state euthanize more dogs and cats than any other except California and Texas. We believe the most effective and humane strategy for ending this crisis is high-volume, high-quality sterilization surgery. We raise money to make spay and neuter surgeries affordable through the Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic SNVC, located in Moore County.

We have exciting news! Our mobile surgical unit arrived today at Fix A Friend Spay Neuter Clinic in Winnabow NC. The vehicle is on loan so they can resume operations after being closed down due to flooding from Debby three weeks ago. We are so happy to support our community partners and expand our mission of reducing unwanted pets through affordable spay and neuter surgeries. 🐶🐱🙌🏻

It’s been so wonderful to see our community pulling together to support our devastated neighbors in western NC. We are not doing a fundraiser this fall, aside from our annual Happy Tails ball. We hope everyone will continue to support the rescue efforts local businesses and nonprofits are making to help humans and their beloved 4-leggeds pull through this disaster.
