Every day is Earth Day in the life of an organic farmer. Yesterday while i was seeding trays of storage cabbage that we won't even harvest until September, I couldn't help but experience all the wonder inside these tiny seeds. This little pile of seeds will turn into 400lbs of cabbage (maybe more!) that will store many months and nourish our bodies as winter sets in. If that isn't magic, I don't know what is. I am grateful I get to pretend I'm a magician, but we all know I'm an imposter, taking credit for all the alchemy Mother Nature supplies us every single day.

Nothing like a wood stove! . This is not our primary heat source and we tend to only use it when it gets really cold here in CO - which has been often lately! . Last year I saw a video of someone using their torch to start a fire and I don't know why that had never occured to me. I brought my #benzomatic up from the farm and haven't looked back. I know it's cheating, but I don't really care 😊 . I've spent a lot of hours this last few weeks plopped on the sofa, as close as I can get to the stove, while working on the 2021 farm layout, planting calendar and plant sale website. Not a bad "office".

Our Story

Our farm is located at Nyland Cohousing Community and our commitment to community-based living is an integral part of our farm where we grow over 200 varieties of fresh produce each year. We believe that our farmland is a whole and balanced ecosystem that we must care for. Because of this belief we have never, nor will we ever, use synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or fertilizers. We are proud of how we care for our farm and our food. Our CSA shares are open to the public and available for $475-$675 for a 22 week season. We also offer add-on fruit and raw milk shares. We also grow and sell a very large variety of vegetable, herb, fruit and flower plants in the spring. Contact us for details about our plant sales. We believe many of our earth's environmental issues can be addressed by eating a local, organic, seasonal diet and we would love to be part of that for you!
