Project Street Vet is a non-profit that helps the unhoused by providing veterinary care for their pets. SpayGeorgia is able to help some of these people and their beloved pets by donating certificates for the spay/neuter surgery of these pets. We admire the mission of Project Street Vet and are glad we can help them with their mission.
TNR ( trap neuter return ) in action. Two now neutered and vaccinated boys being released back to their environment. They were quite happy to see the back of us.
Seen on vacation- dogs at work! Laragh, Ireland.
A sweet Sunday with a sweet playmate. A shy but friendly and playful stray showed up at the house of our Executive Director two weeks ago. She walked right in. She has been vaccinated, tested , and will soon be spayed. Lynx will need a home soon. Could that be your home? Please share and help us find lovely Lynx a home.
Knock knock.
Who’s there?
A stray kitten. May I come in and make myself at home?
But of course!!!!!
This happened last week. Lynx is an adorable tabbyco and has already had her first vet visit. She will be spayed with a SpayGeorgia certificate and will then be looking for a forever home!!!
SpayGeorgia Fights Against Pet Overpopulation
It's almost 2020 and there are many affordable spay/neuter options available. Still, we are faced with staggering numbers of homeless pets. Born only to suffer and die. Will 2020 be the year these homeless numbers decrease? We hope so. Please support your local low cost spay/neuter organizations. Spay/neuter is the only humane solution to this tragedy.
One week old!
Update on the family that we drove to Macon to get into foster care with Planned PEThood. The newborns are one week old today and getting plump! Mama is doing better after the start of an infection and becoming dehydrated. One of the three older boys has been pre-adopted and will go to his new home after quarantine. This little family has a bright future and forever homes waiting for them. The breeding cycle will also end for this family and Mama will never have to have another difficult delivery.
Kitten Play Time
First reaction...how gosh darn cute! Second reaction...three more homeless kittens. Their mother is soon to be spayed with a donated SpayGeorgia certificate. The kittens may have homes....if not, SpayGeorgia will commit to spay and neuter them as well. The cycle will end for this little family.
Eva and Kittens
Eva and her three day old babies. Remember the three brothers we posted last week looking for homes? They have been taken into foster care with Planned PEThood of Georgia. And that's not all! Their mother had three new kittens on Saturday and the caretaker agreed to turn over Mom and newborns as well. Our Executive Director and their caretaker met in Macon. On the way to Macon, Eva had two more kittens and then one more when she was settled into Jean's home; who is fostering her. Sadly two kittens were stillborn and two others did not survive. These two boys are thriving, though, and Eva is an excellent mom. All signs point to the fact that these two newborns are going to be just as handsome as their older brothers!
Another year over and SpayGeorgia has finished 27 years of operation! We have helped so many pets over the years and here are 10 friends that we have been able to donate certificates to in 2018. We look forward to continuing our work of ending pet over population in 2019. A year end tax deductible donation will assist us helping pets like these friends. Happy New Year to you and yours!
