In 1995, Dr. Nick Ashford and Dr. John Strasser opened Town and Country Veterinary Hospital to provide pet owners in the Apex area with quality animal care. With a combined 50+ years of veterinary experience, we provide quality and compassionate veterinary care for your pet in a warm, friendly and clean environment. do you love dumb DUMB dogs?

The kind that have the smoothest of brains and complete absence of brain cells? A dog that’s brain waves sound like absolutely nothing? A puppy whose only survival skill is to eat? The sweetest dog who runs straight into the closed door of his crate, the wall or a glass door?

We’ll have I got the dog for you. Meet Pickles. Pickles is a Smooth Brain Carolina mud puppy (purebred I’m sure). He’s about 40 lbs and is utd on vaccines, heartworm/flea and tick prevention and will be neutered next week.

He’s a Velcro idiot who would wear your skin like a jacket if he could. Pickles lives nothing more than giving kisses and curling up on the bed doing absolutely nothing. He isn’t smart but he’s very cute and he loves other dogs.

I’m pretty sure he’s negative brain cells but in the positive of goodest boy vibes. He’s clumsy because his brain is on a serious delay with his extremities. When you stare into his golden eyes, just know that there is absolutely nothing going on up there. The lights aren’t on, nobody’s home abd honestly it’s just a wind tunnel. His two greatest loves are snacks and his person. And I can’t be that person for him because my skin jacket is already taken by two great Pyrenees and a mean ass cat named Raisin Hell.

Pickles is a true moron who is ready for his forever home. He’s permanently on airplane mode and only knows how to be happy and obsessed with you.

He’s also crate trained and working on his leash manners, which are coming along great because he’s so dumb he just follows whatever I tell him to do.

We will be closed this Thursday (11/27) and Friday (11/28), but will reopen with our regular hours on Saturday (11/29).

A little reminder for vet visits: wait times aren’t a sign of poor care, they’re a sign that the team is giving each pet the attention they deserve. 💛
If you’re waiting, it means your pet is stable enough to do so. Emergencies happen, and those pets need immediate care.
