Sweet Fox went on a trial adoption last weekend and they finalized today! ❤️
He was adopted by one of our long time clients at the clinic so we will get to watch him thrive!
For those following for Twister updates....
She is settling and decompressing. Dr. Romano is going slow and taking it a Twister's pace. So far so good ❤️
Our little nugget enjoyed her play date with the rest of her siblings! She has started eating wet food this weekend, and if all continues to go well, we plan to place her back with them full time in the next few days!
Guess who weighed in at 1 lb and 3 Oz today??
That's a 6 Oz gain since we did panacur and then started adding probiotics and cutting the formula with goats milk. She hasn't had to have sub q fluids since early in week. And is even experimenting with some dry kibble, mostly playing with it.
All positives to report today! ❤️
Update 1/24/25: Sophie received sooo many applications and is pending at this time. thank you
Sweet Sophie joined us last week. She was an owner surrender. She is 4 years old and weighs in at 52 lbs. Perfect isn't a word we use in rescue very often and definitely not one I'd use to describe a doodle but this girl comes pretty close. 💖
Sophie has only been in her current foster home for a few days but has only shown that she is a lovable, loyal girl who wants to please. She is house trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccines and vetting, is mostly quiet, does well with other large breed dogs, and loves stuffed toys and treats. Sophie is so easy going and would fit in in almost any home situation. While she does well with other dogs she really just wants to be with her person or people. She loves nothing more than a good snuggle. She gets very excited when on a leash and needs some work learning not to pull but she is also very happy to get her exercise running around in the back yard. She loves to fetch toys! Sophie was groomed yesterday and the groomer had nothing but positive things to say about her behavior. She even seemed to enjoy the attention. She rides great in a car and does well in a crate overnight and when left alone. Sophie is ready to find her forever home and make someone a wonderful companion.
As a poodle mix she will need to go to a home that can afford to have her groomed every 4 to 6 weeks. Please keep this in mind when applying.
Application for Miss Sophie can be submitted at https://www.woodstockanimalfoundation.org/adopt-a-dog/
Look at our tiny pup trying to play this morning! We had our very first solid poo this morning and I was so proud I would have shared a picture of it except it was still full of dead worms 🤢
Developmentally she is at least a week behind her siblings now and definitely half their size. The original plan had been for her rejoin them but not sure that's a viable option now. But those are worries and decisions for another day. Today we celebrate 🥳
Baby nugget here to wish you all a happy Monday 😊
After pooping out more worms than I care to talk about this weekend she is definitely feeling better. Much more active and appetite is so much better.
Unfortunately we are still struggling with the diarrhea. Probiotics are our friends and we are hitting her hard with them. Also tweaking her formula by adding some goats milk.
Let's all say a quick prayer for regular poops soon!
Good update from Fox's foster mom! This boy was diagnosed with mycoplasma and will likely always have some neurological shakes as a result but he is still a happy and playful boy. To date we have spent over 1000 on Fox's care. Any donations towards him are greatly appreciated.

"Fox is a quirky, hilarious guy. He seems to understand housetraining but was nervous when we put him in the backyard alone at first. He was unwilling to go outside on his own and would sit in corner of porch until we let him back in. He'd go a really long time without going to bathroom and had a couple of accidents in house early on. He seems to be unfazed by the snow and cold and did better when one of us would take him out on a leash. He does well on leash on walks around the block. He’s fine to go outside by himself now and even resisted coming back in last night for several minutes. I’ll attach the videos. In one of them, he hears the heat pump kick on and that seems to convince him to come back inside finally. He gets nervous and will leave the area in response to loud/mechanical sounds like a coffee grinder, vacuum, a car running in driveway, certain audio in videos, etc.
He will put anything in his mouth, but he’s good about dropping it as soon as we tell him “no”. He has chewed a couple of loose charging cables and some corners of cardboard boxes while we weren’t watching. But he really goes after shoes (every kind). He has yet to damage a shoe. He will sniff one right in front of us before trying to walk away with it. Or we will leave him unattended for several minutes and later find a shoe in his bed or on the couch with him.
He does okay in the crate. He’s mostly been very quiet with some exceptions (that I think could be related to needing but refusing to go to bathroom at first).
He’s pretty affectionate but also independent. He likes to be petted/
Update on mom and pups: Our sweet puppies are now over 2 weeks old and have names!
Formally introducing Honey Queen (momma), Mario, Luigi, Bowzer, Toad, Rosalina, and Birdo.
Unfortunately these babies (and momma) continue to deal with not-so-ideal health, but all are active, gaining weight, and fighting! Tiny Birdo has been receiving some extra help away from her family, including being tube fed around the clock for a few days, and began taking a bottle like a champ this morning 🙌🏻!
We have ordered a DNA test and will hopefully have an idea of what their breed mix looks like eventually. Please continue to pray with us for continued growth and health!
This little nugget has been struggling on mom. Gaining and losing and gaining and losing. She got lethargic yesterday so foster brought her to clinic.
We spent the night doing sub q fluids and tube feeding and she feels much better today. Even gained a whole ounce!!!
Labor of love and oh how I love the labor.
Flintstone is also loving a good romp in the snow with his fellow friends in his foster home. ❤️
Loving seeing all these foster babies get to enjoy this.
Fox, the little fellow we committed to helping before Christmas, is doing well.
He spent several days on IV and is still slightly neurological, but he is up and active and eating great.
Parvo test was negative and bloodwork in clinic gave us no indications to what was wrong with him.
Erring on the side of caution, we had volunteers head down to the clinic in Manchester where he is currently being treated, to collect a sample for us to send out for a PCR test for distemper. Unfortunately distemper has been seen in that area and it is not something we want to bring back to our foster homes in Lexington. Fox will stay boarded at the clinic until we get test results and can make appropriate plans to bring him to Lexington. Definitely not the cheapest option but by far the safest.
He will need a foster home once he is cleared if anyone is interested in doing a foster to adopt. He is about 9 months and weighs 20 lbs.
