HOLY SMOKES, is it ever busy around the shop! As the imperfect human that I am, I often complain/gripe about the very things I should give thanks for. I’m super busy, and get bogged down from time to time. That said, I’m VERY grateful for each and every one of you. I’ve the best customers in the business. Man, time has gotten away from me lately. I haven’t posted in about 1.5 weeks. It’s been go-go-go nonstop, and I’m grateful for it!
The customer told me this Missouri deer was kind of a bully, and instructed me to do what I want with him. I thought this aggressive, posturing pose was fitting for how he described the deer.

Obviously this isn’t taxidermy/outdoor related, but reputable people and small businesses need to help each other to stay afloat in this crazy world!
Daniel is a Pitt State electrical grad. He’s been working his tail off, while simultaneously doing side hustles to get ahead. If you’re in the Southeast Kansas area and need any electrical work done, he’s your guy. He wired my entire shop, basement and pulled in/hooked up the mains in my house. I was impressed with the job he did. Now he’s on his own, and open for business!!!

“STICKERS”-a Kansas giant!
Completely custom whitetail mount. The deer had 29 score-able points (I think that’s right, I don’t remember-you can count them, 😊).

I see a lot of debate when people get their buck back from the taxidermist as to why their buck has bald spots all over it or what looks like shaved hair on the cape…here’s an inside look at just how much damage ticks can do to your deer, the pics are the damaged hair and the inside of the cape. The holes and specked bruising is where the ticks were most heavily gathered…Ticks can gather by the hundreds or more in a spot, mostly in the areas of the brisket, back and ears which can cause damaged hair due to the volume of ticks in that area. Most don’t seem to notice this damage after they kill their deer, whether it’s over looked due to the excitement of taking the deer or the most common reason of not looking past the antlers.
I’ll also add, this region (4-corners) has amongst the worst tick damage I’ve ever seen.

Since we’re on the 200”-Club trend, I’ll show this one as well. This was a youth deer taken while hunting with his Dad. I can only imagine the high-fives that were taking place in the blind!
