UPDATES!!!!
I'm posting about a few updates/clarifications for our Field Trials Nov 7-10 in Portland, IN...

-Roll Call is at 6:30a.m.
-Motel--new option!
-Menu updates below--- PLEASE get your meal reservations to Chris Moore ASAP!!!! Deadline is tomorrow, we need to buy groceries!😊

- With the time change this weekend we will have one hour less of sunlight so we need to start Roll Call before dawn to ensure we have plenty of running time during daylight hours!

- The Portland Inn has been completely renovated and is now a Motel 6. The website says their policy is two dogs but I just spoke with the manager about our event and he said they can allow more. He didn't give me a specific number so please call the hotel directly if you have any questions. Don't forget the AKC discount code which gives you 10% off! I am smoking 25 lb of pork butt shoulder as we speak for lunch next Thursday (pulled pork sandwiches)! Chrissy is making homemade mac and cheese!🧀🍽🍖
Master Griller/Smoker & HDC Member Lotus Sapitula will be smoking brisket on site all day Thursday for our Friday lunch. I'll be making Chicken and Noodles for Sunday's lunch!

Thanks to everyone entering and donating to our independent specialty shows! It means a LOT! Building will be open by 9:00 a.m. tomorrow and judging begins at noon with puppy sweepstakes! Despite flight cancellations our sweeps judge Silvain Sirois made it to Indiana!!! 🙌
Reserved grooming spots are labeled & Day Grooming is available in the center of the grooming area. Pre-ordered lunches will be available for pickup at the kitchen after 11:00 a.m.. If you'd like to order a lunch for Saturday or Sunday, please see/ contact Melissa Heymann ASAP!
Selena Nicole Howard is putting the finishing touches on our Raffle to be drawn Sat during Intervariety at the pm show!!!

Upcoming Dachshund Specialty Shows - North America

Hoosier Dachshund Club--Front page of the judging program and a snapshot of our weather for the Specialties this weekend. The building has AC but with everyone moving in on Friday morning, sometimes it can get a little warm inside and hard for the AC to keep up Fri afternoon. For those of you that get cold, we try to keep it cooler in there for the dogs, so bring a sweater or jacket!. Looks like a pretty good forecast for this time of year for us! The humidity is what kills us here. I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago and it was 110° or so. I prefer that to our humidity! Please be careful with your dogs and safe travels to everyone!

We're hoping you still have April 4-7, 2024 marked on your calendars to join us in Portland, IN at the Grand Lake Beagle Club grounds! The Premium List is ready & will be posted as soon as AKC approves our event...hopefully by tomorrow. In the meantime, here is the hotel information for our partner, the Holiday Inn (Portland). Rooms are $144 for King or 2 Queens and a $35 pet fee for the stay. (This hotel normally doesn't accept dogs).
