🐕 Cushing's disease is becoming a bigger problem for dogs. This disease is a condition of overproduction of hormones by the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands are always working overtime, combating toxins and stressful insults to the body. The adrenal glands are responsible for the "fight or flight" condition in the body. If they become exhausted, as in Addison's disease, there is no ability to fight or flee; the body just gives up.

⭐ Foods that can help reduce and treat symptoms of Cushing's disease include:
• Yin tonics - moisturize; these dogs are always thirsty: apples, asparagus, barley, duck, pears, rabbit, pork, sweet potato
• Cooling Foods - these dogs are always hot and panting: asparagus, kelp, millet, bamboo shoot, banana
• Qi tonics - get the blood moving to cool the body: beef, carrots, dates, pumpkin, squash
• Drain Damp - many dogs have damp heat in the skin (chronic skin infections) and may have edema of the limbs: barley, mushrooms, parsley, pumpkin, turnip
