It amazes me no one has stepped up to adopt this handsome heeler boi, Luke. He is so smart and loyal and goofy and playful!! We all love him so much! He came to us quite overweight but we’ve helped him improve his health, loosen up a little bit around new people and happily coexist with several new dog friends. Even with the weight loss, he is still a big fella, so can look intimidating if one doesnt know what a lover he is. He’s hesitant to enlarge his social circle so his forever person would need to understand that strangers make him nervous, and prevent unmanaged greetings. When appropriately introduced, he loves hard, becoming a giant puddle of goo, with derpy grins and wiggly stump tail. Luke can be a bit intense with other dogs so they don’t all love him, but he doesn’t mind mingling with a well balanced dog family. He loves to play with toys, romp in the kiddie pool and flop at the feet for belly rubs or climb onto laps for snuggles. We don’t know if Luke has ever met a cat so we recommend a cat free home. He has exceptional house manners so would be a perfect dog to settle in quickly and become a loyal companion. Luke is about 65 #, 7 years old, neutered and fully vetted. He is being fostered in the Portland OR area

Calling our Border Collie people: We have an active young senior girl needing a soft forever place to land. She is one of ours originally and her parents have realized she doesn’t love her role as sibling to a toddler. They’re a young couple and upon starting their human family, realized their baby becoming more mobile had placed extra stress on this working bred dog who thinks everything in her life should be orderly. She is a wonderful adult human companion, but being a female Border Collie, she can be dog selective. She loves to swim, play and go for walks, hikes and car rides, but she’d prefer not to be forced to interact with other dogs or/and children. She is very well mannered in her home, crate trained and house trained. She’s spayed and healthy, about 45 #, just 8-9 years old, and although still quite active, she is satisfied with life as a spoiled house dog. If you’d be interested in learning more about Sadie, head to our website and fill out an adoption application.

Little Gracie Rose may be the cutest little lap warmer ever, but she’s not just a bump on a log. She loves to go for walks and hikes, and occasionally zoom around the yard a bit, but she also takes her role as weighted blanket very seriously. She’s the perfect size, just 20 #, and even though she’s about 8-9 years old, she has many more years of life to give to her forever person. If you love Aussies but wonder if you have the space or stamina or ability to commit to a standard 50 #+ dog, Grace may be a great compromise. She’s all Aussie at heart but comes in the perfect pint-size package. She is a people person, so although she is fine with other dogs on introduction, she doesn’t really care to interact much. She really would much rather be her person’s sidekick. She enjoys outings to dog friendly events and is super smart and eager to please, so might really thrive in some sort of training program or dog sport. She’s currently being fostered in the Tacoma area. If you’d like to know more about her, see her bio and make inquiries on our website. There’s an adoption application if you’d like to be considered to adopt her.
