Please don't hurt us! It is denning season for foxes and their kits. Foxes den near humans to help keep coyotes from killing their babies. This is not a permanent situation as foxes change dens several times a season and only den while the kits are young. You will see them less and less during the summer and they will by gone by September. If you see them out during the day, it does not mean they are sick, they are working to feed their family. Foxes generally eat berries, grasses and small rodents. Foxes prefer to be alone and don't want to be near our children or pets so please give them space. It is against the law to trap, kill, poison or relocate wildlife in the City of Kettering. Check on your pets' chips, and get them microchipped if they're not.

This is an X-ray of a dog’s bent front leg. See that tiny white spec? That’s a microchip! It has migrated down the leg....far from where it was inserted, between the dog’s shoulders. This is actually quite common.....

When lost pets are scanned, the entire body SHOULD be scanned to catch any that have migrated. But, as an owner, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AT THEIR YEARLY VET EXAM, to ask for a quick scan to make sure that: (1) the chip is still working, (2) the location of the chip is good, and (3) that the chip info is correct.

Remember microchips save lives and reunite families with their pet.... just have it checked regularly!

I am fostering this dog until we can hopefully locate his owners. He was found in Dublin (Columbus suburb). We don't believe he's a stray. Please share far and wide so we can locate his owners.

Ohio currently has over 600 puppy mills and puppy brokers (that we know of) with over 18,000 breeding dogs stuck in these commercial breeding facilities. Our state has a huge puppy mill problem, we also have a huge pet store problem. There are over 50 puppy selling pet stores in Ohio, keeping not only local puppy mills in business but out of state ones as well.

Making matters worse, Petland, the only remaining national puppy selling pet store chain is headquartered in Chillicothe, Ohio. In 2017, Ohio passed S.B. 331, deemed the “Petland bill” which prevents Ohio’s local communities from passing humane ordinances which would prevent pet stores from selling puppy mill puppies. The passing of this bill continues to benefit the commercial dog breeding industry and contributes to Ohio’s massive puppy mill problem.
